Abstract: Melamine resin mixture for impregnating laminating papers comprising a melamine-formaldehyde resin, a sulfite or hydroxymethanesulfonate, and optionally an elastifying agent. Melamine resin mixture comprising: (a) a melamine resin made from (a1) melamine (component a1) and (b1) per mol. melamine, 1.45-1.90 mol. formaldehyde (component b1), with a clouding temperature of 10-30 deg C (component a); (b) per mol. melamine in the melamine resin (a), 0.2-0.4 mol of a sulfur compound selected from sulfite and hydroxymethanesulfonate (component b); and (c) optionally, per mol. melamine in melamine resin (a), 0.01-0.3 mol. of an elastifying agent (component c).
