Abstract:
Desublimer for the recovery of sublimed products from reaction gases, consisting of a closed housing for the passage of the reaction gas and a plurality of horizontally mounted rows of finned tubes for the passage of the heating or cooling medium, in which a perforated slider is mounted on each finned tube to allow adjacent finned tubes to bear loosely against each other, the stack of superposed sliders associated with each finned tube being loosely supported on a girder securely attached to the housing.
Abstract:
A catalyst for the oxidation of aromatic or unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbons which contains in the active material from 60 to 99 percent by weight of titanium dioxide and/or zirconium dioxide, from 1 to 40 percent by weight of vanadium pentoxide and up to 6 percent by weight of combined phosphorus, and which contains from 0 to 0.3 percent by weight of phosphorus in the outer layer and more than 0.3 percent up to 6 percent by weight of phosphorus in the remaining catalytic material.
Abstract:
CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION OF PURE PHTHALIC ANHYDRIDE BY AIR OXIDATION OF O-XYLENE WITH CERTAIN FIXED-BED SUPPORTED CATALYSTS CONTAINING VANADIUM PENTROXIDE AND TITANIUM DIOXIDE IN A SPECIFIC TUBULAR REACTOR AND BY SUBLIMATION, THERMAL TREATMENT AND CONTINUOUS DISTILLATION UNDER SPECIFIC CONDITIONS.
Abstract:
O.Z. 0050/034,599 Desublimator for isolating sublimation products from reaction gases, which consists of a closed housing and a plurality of rows of finned tubes accommodated horizontally and superposedly therein, successive superposed finned tubes being supported, and mutually spaced, with limited adjustability, by means cagelike perforated sliding shoes surrounding them in a box-like manner, the sliding shoes of the individual finned tubes being directly stacked one above the other and resting loosely on common supporting girders anchored to the housing, and the supporting girders having, in cross-section, the outline of a triangle with its apex pointing downward.
Abstract:
A supported catalyst, containing vanadium pentoxide, titanium dioxide, phosphorus, rubidium and/or cesium, with or without zirconium dioxide, in which the catalytic material contains from 1 to 40% by weight of V2O5, from 60 to 99% by weight of TiO2 and any optionally added IrO2 and, based on the total amount of ?iO2, ?rO2 and V2O5, up to 2% by weight of phosphorus and up to 1.5% by weight of rubidium and/or cesium, and which comprises two layers, of which the inner layer contains more than 0.2 and up to 2% by weight of phosphorus, but no rubidium and/or cesium, and the outer layer contains from 0 to 0.2% by weight of phosphorus and from 0.02 to 1.5% by weight of rubidium and/or cesium, the outer layer accounting for from 10 to 90% by weight of the total catalytic material.

Abstract:
A process for the continuous isolation of phthalic anhydride and maleic anhydride from the reaction gases obtained by catalytic oxidation of o-xylene or naphthalene with air, wherein the reaction gases are treated with a hydrocarbon of boiling range from 115 to 175.degree.C as the solvent in a column, and are then treated with an organic solvent of boiling range from 180 to 290.degree.C in a second column, the phthalic anhydride and maleic anhydride being isolated from the liquid bottom product of the first column.
