Abstract:
A method for producing an aqueous polymer dispersion by radical emulsion polymerization of an aqueous monomer emulsion, wherein the monomer emulsion is produced continually according to consumption by mixing the components thereof using a mixing device.
Abstract:
A colloid disperse dye preparation is prepared by preparation of an emulsion, which contains drops of a dye melt emulsified in a non-solvent, at elevated temperature, subjecting the emulsion to shear forces to reduce the average drop size to below 5 mu m, and cooling the emulsion below the melt temperature of the dye. Preparation of colloid disperse dye preparations comprises: (a) preparation of a crude emulsion, which contains drops of a dye melt emulsified in a non-solvent, at elevated temperature; (b) subjecting the crude emulsion to shear forces, so that the average size of the drops is reduced to below 5 mu m; and (c) cooling the resulting emulsion below the melt temperature of the dye. Independent claims are included for: (A) dye preparation obtainable by the above process; (B) dye preparation comprising dye particles which: (i) have an average particle size below 5 mu m; (ii) are spherical; and (iii) are spherical; and (C) inkjet ink which comprises a dye preparation as described in (A) or (B), optionally in combination with other auxiliaries.
Abstract:
Preparation of an aqueous polymer dispersion by radical emulsion polymerization of an aqueous monomer emulsion where the monomer emulsion is prepared continuously by mixing the components with a mixing unit comprising: at least one nozzle selected from: tapered-, hollow tapered-, flat jet-, polished flat jet-, rebound-, and binary nozzles is new.
Abstract:
Fine emulsions are prepared by forcing the raw emulsion through an orifice (5) under pressure, e.g. between 10 and 1000 bar. The opening (5) has an adjustable dividing element (9), preferably with a conical end. The length (lB) to diameter (dB) ration of the orifice (5) is preferably less than 1. Independent claims are also included for the use of a needle valve as the adjustable orifice and an inlet chamber (1) with a diameter (dE) greater than 10 times the orifice diameter (dB).
