Abstract:
SHAPED ARTICLES SUCH AS FILAMENTS, FIBERS OR SHEETING COMPOSD OF LINEAR POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATES CONTAINING ORGANIC COMPOUNDS HAVING SUFONATE GROUPS. THE SHAPED ARTICLES SHOW GOOD AFFINITY FOR BASIC DYES.
Abstract:
1. AN IMPROVED THERMOPLASTIC MOLDING COMPOSITION OF POLYOXYMETHYLENES SELECTED FROM THE GROUP CONSISTING OF HOMOPOLYMERS OF FORMALDEHYDE AND COPOLYMERS OF FORMALDEHYDE OR TRIOXANE, SAID HOMOPOLYMERS HAVING THERMALLY STABLE END GROUPS AND SAID COPOLYMERS CONTAINING MORE THAN ABOUT 50% OF OXYMETHYLENE GROUPS AND AT LEAST ABOUT 0.1% OF THE COMONOMER HAVING AT LEAST TWO VICINAL CARBON ATOMS, FROM 10 TO 60% BY WEIGHT OF GLASS FIBERS, AND FROM 0.5 TO 10% BY WEIGHT, BASED ON THE TOTAL WEIGHT OF THE MIXTURE, OF A HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT POLYURETHANE EXHIBITING THERMOPLASTIC PROPERTIES, SAID POLYURETHANE HAVING BEEN PREPARED FROM POLYESTERS, POLYETHERS SUCH AS POLYETHYLENEGLYCOL ETHERS, POLYPROPYLENEGLYCOL ETHERS OR POLYACETALS HAVING FREE HYDROXYL END GROUPS AND POLYISOCYANATES USING CHAIN-EXTENDING AGENTS SUCH AS LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT POLYOLS.
Abstract:
Thermoplastic molding compositions of polyoxymethylenes and glass fibers and containing from 0.1 to 5.0 per cent, by weight of the total weight of the mixture, of alkoxymethyl ureas having the formula R1OCH2-N-CO-N-CH2OR2 ¦¦ R3R4 where R1 and R2 are the same or different and denote straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl of from 1 to 10 carbon atoms and R3 and R4 denote hydrogen or alkyl, or R3 and R4 are joined together to form a heterocyclic ring with the adjacent ureido group.
Abstract:
Glass-fiber-reinforced molding compositions of reduced flammability consisting of (A) a linear saturated polyester resin, (B) from 10 to 60 per cent by weight of glass fibers and (C) from 3 to 30 per cent by weight of a flame retardant. The compositions contain from 2 to 20 per cent by weight, based on the total weight of the molding composition, of a particulate water-insoluble silicate having a bulk density of more than 100 g/l, which prevents dripping of the composition when in contact with an open flame.
Abstract:
A flameproofed nylon molding composition which can be processed by thermoplastic methods and which contains, as the flameproofing agent, from 5 to 30% by weight of brominated styrene oligomers and a synergistic metal oxide. The compositions may be used for the manufacture of injection moldings for the electrical industry.

Abstract:
Secondary batteries with aqueous acid solutions of lead salts as electrolytes and inert electrode base plates also contain redox systems in solution. These systems have a standard potential of from -0.1 to +1.4 V relative to a standard hydrogen reference electrode, do not form insoluble compounds with the electrolytes and are not oxidized or reduced irreversibly by the active compositions applied to the electrode base plates, within their range of operating potentials.
