Abstract: PURPOSE: To judge the quality of large quantity of re-recording audio and/or video information which is copied from a master tape recorded in the tape-form magnetic recording medium by a high-speed copy process. CONSTITUTION: When the master tape is produced, at least two copies are obtained from the master tape in order to establish a quality defect, make-up is executed to be one cassette in respective cases to load them to two test recorders 1 and 2 and the audio and/or video signal is analyzed, assessed and printed-out by a computer unit and a check unit. The position of the defect is decided by the comparison of reproduced information and which one of copy process or the defect of a copy tape is related in the master tape, is simultaneously established.
