Abstract: In a magnetic recording medium comprising a nonmagnetic substrate and at least one magnetizable layer which is applied thereon and is based on an acicular ferromagnetic iron oxide finely distributed in a polymeric binder and further conventional additives, unsaturated organic compounds are present as additives in the magnetizable layer and the magnetic layer contains an additive of the general formula where R is H, CH3, C2H5 or C3H7.n
