The present invention relates to amphiphilic star-like polyether. The core molecule is an aliphatic hyperbranched polyether polyol, which is further alkoxylated, first with ethylene oxide or combinations of ethylene oxide and C 3 -C 20 alkylene oxide, preferably propylene oxide, and/or glycidol, and then with a C 3 -C 20 alkylene oxide, preferably propylene oxide, or combination of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide, then optionally anionically modified. The resulting amphiphilic star-like polyether thus has an inner core based on an aliphatic hyperbranched polyether polyol, an inner shell predominantly containing polyethylene oxide units, the inner shell comprising at least 3 ethylene oxide units and an outer shell predominantly containing polypropylene oxide units, the outer shell comprising at least 3 propylene oxide units. They optionally contain anionic groups instead of hydroxyl groups on the periphery of the macromolecule. The invention further relates to their use as additive in laundry formulations and to their manufacturing process.

Isosorbide derivatives according to the general formula (I) where R and R' - independently of one another - are: (i) a hydrogen atom, or (ii) a radical COR", where R" is a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated alkyl radical having 5 to 23 carbon atoms, or (iii) a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated alkyl radical having 6 to 22 carbon atoms, or (iv) a radical CH 2 -CHOH-R" ', where R" ' is a linear or branched alkyl radical having 6 to 22 carbon atoms, or (v) a radical (CH 2 -CH 2 O) n -H and/or (CH 2 -CH(CH 3 )-O) m -H, where n and m, independently of one another, can be an integer or fraction from 1 to 10, or (vi) for a radical SO 3 OX, where X represents a sodium or ammonium ion, with the proviso that at most one of the radicals R and R' is a hydrogen atom, are suitable for producing cosmetic compositions.

The present invention is directed towards a detergent composition comprising (a) in total in the range of from 4.0 % to 25.0 % by weight of at least one organic chelating agent selected from methyl glycine diacetic acid (MGDA), glutamic acid diacetic acid (GLDA),the alkali metal salts of methyl glycine diacetic acid (MGDA) and of glutamic acid diacetic acid (GLDA),referring to the total solids content of the respective detergent composition, and (b) at least one enzyme selected from proteases. Additionally, the present invention is directed towards the use of the inventive detergent composition for laundry care and for automatic dish washing, and to a process for manufacture of the inventive detergent compositions.
