PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pesticide composition in the form of a water-absorbent granular material for exterminating soil-living pests.SOLUTION: The pesticide composition in the form of a water-absorbent granular material includes: (i) 0.001-10 wt.% of at least one pesticide compound which is active against soil-living noxious arthropod; (ii) 80-99.999 wt.% of at least one granular superabsorbent polymer; and (iii) water, based on the total weight of the composition except for water and the components (i) and (ii) make up at least 90 wt.% of the composition except for water. The pesticide composition in the form of a water-absorbent granular material is obtained by treating the granular superabsorbent polymer with a liquid aqueous composition containing the at least one pesticide compound.

The present invention relates to novel pesticide compositions in the form of a gel material or a solid material which are suitable for combating arthropod pests, in particular insects. The pesticide composition in the form of a gel or solid contains: i) 0.001 to 50% by weight of at least one pesticide compound which is effective against arthropod pest, ii) 0.5 to 20% by weight of at least one superabsorbent polymer P having an absorption capacity for deionised water of at least 100 g per 1 g of polymer P, and iii) 5 to 94.5% by weight of at least one filler material different from water, and iv) 5 to 94.5% by weight of water, wherein the % by weight are based on the total weight of the composition. The present invention also relates to the use of the pesticide compositions as described herein for combating arthropod pests and to a method for combating arthropod pests, which comprises applying a gel composition as defined herein either directly or as an aqueous dilution to a location where the arthropod pest gets into contact with said composition.

La composición pesticida en la forma de gel que se puede diluir en agua o sólido que contiene i) 0.001 a 50% en peso de al menos un compuesto pesticida que es efectivo contra plagas artrópodas, ii) 0.5 a 20% en peso de al menos un polímero superabsorbente P que tiene una capacidad de absorción de agua desionizada de al menos 100 g por 1 g de polímero P, y iii) 5 a 84.5% en peso de al menos un material llenador diferente de agua, y iv) a 84.5% en peso de agua, en la que el % en peso con base en el peso total de la composición, en la que el material llenador comprende al menos un atrayente, en el que el atrayente comprende al menos un estimulante de alimentación seleccionado del grupo de carbohidratos comestibles y carbohidratos hidrogenados comestibles en una cantidad desde 1 a 50 % en peso de la composición y donde la composición no contiene componente hidrófobo, que es seleccionado de aceites naturales y grasas, aceites grasos, alcoholes grasos y mezclas de los mismos.

1.- Composición pesticida en la forma de gel o un sólido caracterizada porque contiene i) 0,001 al 50% en peso de al menos un compuesto pesticida que sea efectivo contra una plaga de artrópodo, ii) 0,5 al 20% en peso de al menos un polímero superabsorbente P que tiene una capacidad de absorción para agua desionizada de al menos 100 g por 1 g de polímero P, y iii) 5 al 94,5% en peso de al menos un material de relleno diferente de agua, y iv) 5 al 94,5% en peso de agua, en donde el % en peso es sobre la base del peso total de la composición. 2.- La composición de acuerdo con cualquiera de las reivindicaciones precedentes, caracterizada porque el material de relleno comprende un agente de atracción. 3.- La composición de acuerdo con la reivindicación 2, caracterizada porque el material de relleno comprende un estimulante de alimentación. 4.- La composición de acuerdo con la reivindicación 3, caracterizada porque el estimulante de alimentación comprende al menos un hidrato de carbono comestible y/o al menos un hidrato de carbono hidrogenado comestible. 5.- La composición de acuerdo con cualquiera de las reivindicaciones precedentes, caracterizada porque el material de relleno comprende un componente hidrofóbico que es seleccionado de aceites y grasas naturales, ácidos grasos, alcoholes grasos y sus mezclas. 6.- La composición de acuerdo con cualquiera de las reivindicaciones precedentes, caracterizada porque el polímero superabsorbente P es un copolímero con enlaces cruzados de monómeros etilénicamente insaturados M, que comprende al menos el 90% en peso, sobre la base del peso total de monómeros M, de al menos un ácido carboxílico monoetilénicamente insaturado CA. 7.- La composición de acuerdo con la reivindicación 6, caracterizada porque los monómeros M comprenden al menos el 90% en peso, sobre la base del peso total de monómeros M, de al menos un ácido carboxílico monoetilénicamente insaturado CA, o de una mezcla de al menos un ácido carboxílico monoetilénicamente insaturado CA o una de sus sales y al menos una amida de un ácido monoetilénicamente insaturado AM. 8.- La composición de acuerdo con la reivindicación 7, caracterizada porque los monómeros M 90% en peso, sobre la base del peso total de monómeros M, de una mezcla de ácido acrílico o una de sus sales de metales alcalinos y acrilamida.
