    Abstract: This application relates to biodegradable graft polymers for use as dye transfer inhibitors especially in laundry applications.
    The graft polymers of the invention comprise a polyalkylene oxide polymer as polymer backbone of the graft polymer and grafted side chains obtained from radically polymerizing at least one vinyl ester, at least one vinylimidazole-monomer or derivative thereof in amounts of more than 10 weight percent being based on the total weight of the graft polymer, and optionally at least one vinyl lactame in the presence of the polymer backbone.
    The inventive graft polymers exhibit dye transfer inhibition properties; as they also are bio-degradable, they are useful polymers for laundry cleaning applications to prevent dye transfer.
    The invention further relates to the production of such graft polymers.
    Furthermore, the present invention relates to the use of such a graft polymer within fabric and home care products, and the use of such graft polymers for inhibiting the dye transfer in laundry applications.
    This invention also relates to fabric and home care products as such containing such a graft polymer.

    Abstract: This invention deals with water-soluble graft polymers comprising as polymer base a polysaccharide, and as grafted side chains at least one water soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer, such unsaturated monomer comprising at least one sodium carboxylate unit, being produced by radically initiated polymerization reaction, and further employing during the polymerization at least one organic compound capable of complexing metal ions, preferably iron, containing in its structure at least one carboxyl-group which may be partially or fully present as acid-group or deprotonated in salt-form, their manufacture and uses, for example in laundry or dishwashing, and a method of stabilizing such graft polymers. The graft polymers have a solid content after manufacturing of at least 20% and with at least 70% of the solid content. The aqueous solution of a grafted polymer is the characterized by a Gardner color less than 4.0 and a color stability at least 6 months with an increase of maximum one Gardner color value unit at room temperature.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are polyesters including at least one diacid-based building block, at least one diol-based building block and at least one polyol-based building block, where the diacid-based building block includes a group of formula (I) where R1 is a group according to the general formula CH2—CH2—O(AO)x—H, with x being a number from zero to 75 and AO being alkylene oxide selected from ethylene oxide and combinations of ethylene oxide with at least one of propylene oxide and butylene oxide, where polyol building blocks are derived from compounds having at least three alcoholic hydroxyl groups, where the asterisks indicate bonds to diol or polyol building blocks through the ester oxygen atoms, and where the molar ratio of diacid-based building block to the sum of diol building blocks and polyol building blocks is in the range from 2:1 to 1:2.
