Abstract: La presente invención se relaciona con un polímero de estireno expansible que contiene partículas atérmicas y está revestido con un medio de hidrofobización, en donde el medio de hidrofobización contiene 10 a 90% en peso de cuando menos un triéster de por lo menos un ácido graso con un alcohol multihídrico como componente A; 5 a 70% en peso de cuando menos un monoéster de un ácido graso con un alcohol multihídrico como componente B; 5 a 80% en peso de cuando menos una sal de metal de un ácido graso como componente C; 5 a 50% en peso de cuando menos un silicato como componente D; y 0 a 30% en peso de cuando menos un agente antiestático como componente; y la suma de los componentes A a E del medio de hidrofobización totaliza a 100% en peso. La invención también se relaciona con un método para la producción de polímero de estireno expansible revistiendo un polímero de estireno expansible que contiene partículas atérmicas con este medio de hidrofobización, una espuma producida de este polímero de estireno expansible, y el uso de un medio de hidrofobización para revestir polímeros de estireno expansibles que contienen partículas atérmicas.
