Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing expandable styrene polymers by polymerizing at least one vinyl aromatic monomer in an aqueous suspension in the presence of at least one halogenated polymer as a flame retardant, graphite, and blowing agent, characterized in that, at the start of the polymerization, the aqueous suspension contains 1 to 30 wt% of at least one styrene polymer with respect to the sum of monomers and styrene polymer and the styrene polymer used at the start of the polymerization likewise contains at least one halogenated polymer as a flame retardant.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an expandable styrene polymer containing 0.2 to 30.0 percent by weight of at least one homogeneously distributed triazine derivative, the percentage being relative to the expandable styrene polymer, a method for the production thereof using a coextrusion process, an expanded styrene polymer containing 0.2 to 30.0 percent by weight of at least one homogeneously distributed triazine derivative, the percentage being relative to the expanded styrene polymer, and a foam that can be made from said expandable styrene polymer.
Abstract:
The invention relates to light wood-based materials containing 30 - 92.5 % by wt. of wood particles, in relation to the wood-based material. Said wood particles have an average density of between 0.4 - 0.85 g/cm 3 , 2.5 - 20 % by wt. of polystyrene and/or styrene copolymer as filling material, in relation to the wood-based material. Said filling material has a bulk density of between 10 -100 kg/m 3 , and 5 - 50 % by wt. of binding agents, in relation to wood-based material. The average density of the light wood-based material is less than or equal to 600 kg/m 3 .
Abstract:
The invention relates to a light material containing wood having an average density in the region of between 200 to 600 kg/m 3 , and which comprises, in relation to the material containing wood, A) 30 to 95% by wt. of wood particles, B) 1 to 25% by wt. of a filling material having a bulk density in the region of between 10 to 150 kg/m 3 , selected from the group consisting of foamable plastic particles and already foamed plastic particles, C) 0.1 to 50% by wt. of a binding agent, and optionally, D) additives. Said claimed material containing wood is characterised by the following relation between the d' values in accordance with the Rosin-Rammler-Sperling-Bennet distribution of the wood particles (A) and the particles of the filling material (B): d' of the particles (A) =2,5 OEd' of the particles (B).
