Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel adsorbents applicable a process for the separation or purification of antibodies, antibody fragments or engineered variants thereof, which comprise anthraquinone dye ligands; corresponding purification processes; and corresponding analytical or preparative separation kits.
Abstract:
Abstract:
AKD cellulosic composition obtainable by flowing a stream of a cellulosic suspension through a shearing device and in which a molten alkyl ketene dimer (AKD) is metered in to the stream of cellulosic suspension in or prior to the shearing device. The AKD cellulosic composition is particularly suitable in the manufacture of sized paper and paperboard.
Abstract:
A process for chlorinating polysaccharides or oligosaccharides, which comprises A) dissolving a polysaccharide or oligosaccharide in a solvent system which comprises at least one ionic liquid and B) reacting the polysaccharides or oligosaccharides with a chlorinating agent.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to genetically modified microorganisms capable of producing beta-glucans, characterized in that said genetically modified microorganism overexpresses (i) a polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide having 1,3-β-D-glucan synthase-activity, and/or (ii) a polypeptide having 1,3-β-glucan synthase-activity, compared to a corresponding non-modified control microorganism of the same strain. The present invention also relates to the use of a polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide having 1,3-β-D-glucan synthase-activity or the use of such a polypeptide for producing β-glucans. Furthermore, the present invention relates to methods for producing β-glucans comprising the introduction of a promoter upstream of a polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide having 1,3-β-D-glucan synthase-activity thereby increasing the expression of said polynucleotide, or a polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide having 1,3-β-D-glucan synthase-activity into a microorganism being able to synthesize β-glucans.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to oligo- and polysaccharides containing amine groups. More particularly, the present invention is directed towards a new process to manufacture cationic cellulose oligomers. The new cationic oligo- or polysaccharides are shown to be useful ingredients in various aqueous compositions, inter alia as ingredients for personal care compositions.
