The dispersants are branched comb polymers with polyether side chains, naphthaline sulfonate formaldehyde condensation products, melamine sulfonate formaldehyde condensation products, and phosphated polycondensation products. The formulations according to the invention are especially suitable as plant protection and wood protection products and are preferably in the form of suspensions for the pressure treatment of the respective construction materials.

Abstract: A process for the preparation of surface-modified nanoparticulate copper Compounds is disclosed, which comprises the steps: (a) preparation of an aqueous solution comprising copper ions (solution 1) and of an aqueous solution comprising at least one anion which forms a precipitate with copper ions and is not a hydroxide ion (solution 2), at least one of the two solutions 1 and 2 comprising at least one water-soluble polymer such as a polycarboxylate,(b) mixing of the solutions 1 and 2 prepared in step a), at a temperature in the range from 0 to 100 Deg. C, with the surface-modified nanoparticulate copper compounds forming and being precipitated from the solution with formation of an aqueous dispersion,(c) isolation of the surface-modified nanoparticulate copper compounds from the aqueous dispersion obtained in step (b), and (d) if appropriate, drying of the surface-modified nanoparticulate copper compounds obtained in step (c).

Abstract: A formulation is disclosed, which contains at least one protective substance that is active with respect to cellulose-containing materials, such as wood-containing building materials in the form of solid wood or wood-based materials, and at least one specific compound with dispersing properties. The protective substance consists essentially of a copper compound in particle form with a particle size in a range of from 1 nanometer to 1 micrometer and the dispersants are branched comb-shaped polymers with polyether side chains, naphthalene-sulfonate-formaldehyde condensation products, melamine-sulfonate-formaldehyde condensation products and phosphatized polycondensation products. The formulations disclosed are suitable in particular as plant protection agents and wood preservatives and are preferably used in the form of suspensions for pressure treatment of the respective building materials.
