Abstract:
A process for the production of sheets of paper, board and cardboard is provided. The process comprises the addition of at least one cationic polymeric retention aid or a retention aid system comprising the at least one cationic polymeric retention aid to a paper stock, draining the paper stock on a wire with sheet formation, and drying of the sheets. An endo-.beta.-1,4-glucanase is metered in an amount of from 0.00001 to 0.01% by weight, based on the dry weight of the paper stock, into the paper stock before the addition of the at least one cationic polymeric retention aid or retention aid system. Sheets of paper, board or cardboard produced by this process.
