The invention relates to the use of specific benztriazole derivatives of general formula (I), wherein B represents an optionally substituted 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)- 2H-benztriazole group, n is a whole number between 3 - 20 and A represents an n-valent organic radical, as a UV-absorber or stabiliser in inanimate organic materials. The invention also relates to methods for stabilising inanimate organic materials, in particular plastics, counter to the effects of light by means of specific benztriazole derivatives. The invention also relates to specific benztriazole derivatives and inanimate organic materials containing specific benztriazole derivatives.

The present invention relates to a process for producing polymer composites suitable for absorbing and storing aqueous liquids and to the polymer composites obtainable by this process. The invention further relates to the use of these polymer composites. The process comprises free-radical polymerization of a monomer composition M which a) 50 to 100% by weight, based on the total amount of monomers A and B, of at least one monomer A having one ethylenic double bond and at least one neutralizable acid group, b) 0 to 50% by weight of optionally one or more comonomers B which are different than the monomers A and have one ethylenic double bond, and c) 0 to 10% by weight, based on the total amount of monomers A and B, of at least one crosslinker C, wherein the polymerization of the monomer composition is performed in an aqueous suspension of a water-insoluble particulate substance S comprising cellulose or lignocellulose, the weight ratio of the monomer composition M to the substance S being in the range from 9:1 to 1:9; and wherein the monomers A used for polymerization are present in the aqueous suspension in neutralized, i.e. anionic, form to an extent of at least 10 mol%, frequently to an extent of at least 20 mol%, particularly to an extent of at least 30 mol% and especially to an extent of at least 35 mol%.

The invention relates to preparations comprising a wax in which polymer particles are present, where the polymer particles comprise at least one effect substance, obtainable by, by means of a miniemulsion polymerization carried out in the presence of a wax-immiscible solvent, distributing at least one effect substance in polymer particles, and incorporating the polymer particle dispersion obtained in this way into a wax by phase transfer. Furthermore, the invention relates to compositions comprising a polymeric matrix in which, in essentially homogeneous distribution, the aforementioned polymer particles are present, obtainable by incorporating the aforementioned polymer-particle-comprising wax as preparation into a polymeric matrix.

La presente invención se relaciona con el uso de aminas estéricamente impedidas que comprende uno o más grupos de la fórmula general (I) (ver fórmula (I)) para estabilizar material orgánico inanimado, más particularmente plásticos o materiales de revestimiento, en donde R1 y R2 cada uno independientemente, semejantes o diferentes, son H, alquilo-C1-C20, cicloalquilo-C3-C15, arilo, hetarilo o un heterociclo, R4, R5, R6 y R7 cada uno independientemente, semejantes o diferentes, son alquilo-C1-C20, o R4 y R6 o R5 y R7 juntos son un grupo tetrametileno o pentametileno, y R3es arilo o hetarilo. La invención se relaciona además con métodos para estabilizar material orgánico inanimado, especialmente plásticos o materiales de revestimiento. The invention relates to a composition containing at least one piperidine compound of formula (I) as a stabiliser. In said formula (I) the variables R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8, Y and the index n have the meanings cited in claim 1 and the description. Said composition also comprises a polymer component and a colouring agent. The invention further relates to a method for producing pigment-containing polymer compositions and to the use of the compounds of formula (I) as dispersing auxiliary agents.
