Abstract: The invention relates to a method for welding a first molded body (1a) to a second molded body (1b). A tool (5) is used for this purpose, which has a first outer surface (6a) and a second outer surface (6b), wherein the first outer surface (6a) comprises a channel (7a) and the second outer surface (6b) comprises a channel (7b). The end (2a) of the first molded body (1a) is heated by a hot gas while the end (2a) is at a distance (Xa) from the channel inlet plane (14a) in the range of 3 mm outside of the channel (7a) to 10 mm inside the channel (7a). The joining surface (2b) of the second molded body (1b) is also heated by a hot gas while the joining surface (2b) is at a distance (Xb) from the channel inlet plane (14b) in a range of 3 mm outside of the channel (7b) to 10 mm inside the channel (7b). Then the heated end (2a) and the heated joining surface (2b) are brought in contact with each other and cooled and a weld seam is formed between the first molded body (1a) and the second molded body (1b). The invention further relates to the welded molded body that can be obtained in accordance with the method according to the invention.
