Abstract:
A medical device, such as a vascular access device, is disclosed for providing access to a medical fluid flow path for the introduction or withdrawal of medical fluids to and from the flow path. The access device includes an indicator for providing a visual indication when the access device has been exposed to an antiseptic agent.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for preparing solventless bonds between plastic components. The method includes the step of using infrared exposure to create bonds, and more specifically, the step of exposing a first article and/or a second article to a specific portion of the infrared spectrum. The invention further provides medical devices fabricated using infrared exposure.
Abstract:
Flow-through systems for processing biological fluid are disclosed. The flow-through systems include a removal device in the flow path for removing unwanted compounds and agents. The removal device includes a removal media contained within a housing made of two separate portions sealed together. The housing is maintained in a substantially vertical disposition, thereby ensuring substantially uniform and complete exposure of the fluid to the media.
