Abstract: PURPOSE: To separate a biological material and to provide chromatography rapidly and efficiently purifying an antibody. CONSTITUTION: In a method for separating composite protein from a sample, a soln. containing protein to be purified is brought into contact with a porous and substantially non-swellable sheet having hydrated crystal hydroxylapatite particles physically fixed thereto in the presence of a pH buffer soln. and purified protein is subsequently eluted. One pref. apparatus contains inlet and outlet seals 10, 15, a spirally wound chromatography separation medium composed of a porous and substantially non-swellable sheet having hydrated crystal hydroxylapatite particles physically fixed thereto and a porous center support 40 having the sheet wound therearound.
