    Abstract: 27,529. Bonhomme, J. Nov. 29,1911, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors.-In carburettors for use on aeroplanes and other apparatus liable to assume great inclinations, the float chamber or fuel reservoir is dispensed with and the nozzle outlet is controlled by a valve which is pressed to its seat on a back-fire occurring. The casing 1 is reduced in diameter at the nozzle outlet which is controlled by a needle valve 3 attached to, and adapted to be lifted by, a perforated screen 16 actuated by suction. The lift of the valve is controlled by a cam 14. The fuel, which is supplied by gas pressure, is filtered at 8 and is heated by a jacket 10. Air enters through two sets of apertures 20, 21 controlled by a ring 22, and is directed to the vicinity of the nozzle outlet by a fixed cone 19 and by the movable cone 16. The Specification as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (a) describes also the carburettor shown in Fig. 3 (Cancelled) in which the valve 3 is carried by a framework comprising washers 17, 14, 16. This framework is lifted by the combined action of the suction, and the air entering at 20 striking the washer 16. The upward movement of the fuel-valve is limited by a stop 24 engaging the washer 14, the stop being adjusted by a cam-slot and pin actuated by the valve 22 which controls the air through the openings 20, 21. The fixed cone is shown at 19. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
