    Abstract: A hydraulic power steering apparatus has a piston pump operated by a steering wheel and shifting at an increased resistance, a control valve for connecting a motor driven power pump to a steering motor acting on the wheels of a car. An auxiliary motor is also connected to the wheels, and participates in normal steering operations, but when the wheels are jolted by the road surface, the increased pressure in the auxiliary motor effects shifting of a valve and thereby supply of pressure fluid from the power pump to the auxiliary motor for damping or compensating the jolt.

    Abstract: A hydraulic conduit and a pressure vessel having an interior chamber provided with an opening cooperate with one another. A flexible partition subdivides the chamber into a first compartment which communicates with the opening, and a second compartment which contains a body of compressed gas which normally flexes the partition wall into the first compartment and against the opening. Connecting passages are provided which so connect the hydraulic conduit with the opening that hydraulic fluid flowing in the conduit is conducted in its entirety through the first compartment at least at such times as the flexible partition is out of contact with the opening.

Date Jun. 13, 1991.A brake pressure control system for braking systems of a vehicle with anti-locking and drive slip control in which there is at least one expansion chamber provided between the wheel brake cylinders and the recirculating pump. The expansion chamber includes an inlet and an outlet on the same end with a piston having a closing mechanism thereon that is spring forced to seat the closing mechanism on a seat at the outlet. The valve seat is reduced in size compared with the piston and the spring is in a chamber which is open to the atmosphere. Due to the valve seat being reduced in relation to the area of the piston located in the expansion chamber, a steep closing force gradient is achieved, since even small pressure differences result in large closing force differences, so that the opening and closing pressures lie close together. Based on this additional closing mechanism, provided on the expansion chamber, the requirement for a separate valve for brake pressure control is no longer required.

    Abstract: A master brake cylinder including a re-aspiration valve which is disposed as a central valve in pistons of the master brake cylinder. The re-aspiration valve has a porous body, comprising porous metal, which forms a flat valve seat at one end. The sealing body of the re-aspiration valve is raised gently from the valve seat even at high ambient pressure, which makes a re-aspiration valve embodied in this way particularly suitable for use in master brake cylinders of brake systems having slip control. Because the porous body comprises porous metal which differs in length from its wall surface at one end to its axis to form a conical void space. The porous body has an axial flow resistance that decreases from the outside wall inward to its axis.

    Abstract: The hydraulic control device which serves especially for the operation of the brake system of a trailer attached to a tractor vehicle has a flow control valve (16), an accumulator charging valve (35, 49) and a control piston (75) for the brake cylinder (112) of the trailer. The brake energy is derived from a pressure accumulator, which is charged by a pump (13) by way of the flow control valve (16). The brake device for actuation of the trailer brake cylinder can function in two ways, that is hydraulically by way of a brake pedal (109) and a brake line (107), a pressure piston (105) and a pressure- reducing device, or mechanically by way of a lever (125), which also acts on the control piston (75) by way of an eccentric journal (123). The control piston is of advantage especially when the vehicle-trailer unit is parked on an incline.

    Abstract: The hydraulic control device has a flow control valve (16) and a brake device (51, 52, 59, 100). In a braking sequence the pressure medium delivered by the pump is controlled by way of the flow control valve and a non-return valve (38) to the brake cylinder (100). In the process, pressure is exerted on a small piston (52) and slide valve (51), the latter being so adjusted that a neutral circulating flow from the pump to the reservoir is interrupted and pressure medium can flow to the brake device. The brake device may be actuated either by way of a service brake (73, 74) or a parking brake (77, 78). In either case a piston (67 or 70) assigned to these is actuated, which acts on a hollow piston (59) in the brake device.
