    Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect lengthwise cracks on a belt with high precision, by embedding an inner magnetic sensor and an inner magnetic generator into a conveyor belt laterally forming a pair, and arranging an outer magnetic generator and an outer magnetic sensor at the outer side of the conveyor belt. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of inner magnetic sensors 3, inner magnetic generators 4 are respectively embedded at left and right side edge portions of a conveyor belt 1 equidistantly in a lengthwise direction, where each of the magnetic sensor 3 and the magnetic generator 4 is constructured by arranging a winding around a pot-core of high magnetic permeability and both 3, 4 are electrically connected to each other by a conductive member 5. On the other hand, one set of an outer magnetic generator 8 and an outer magnetic sensor 9 is arranged at the outer portion of the conveyor belt 1 so that the generator 8 is opposed to the inner sensor 3 and the sensor 9 is opposed to the inner generator 4. In addition, magnetic field generated from the outer magnetic generator 8 is detected by the inner magnetic sensor 3, and magnetic filed is generated from the inner magnetic generator 4 driven by an output signal of the inner magnetic sensor 3, while the outer magnetic sensor 9, detects said magnetic filed and a discrimination circuit 13 detects any crack on the conveyor belt 1 by the presence of an output from the sensor 9.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a longitudinal cracks sensing device for conveyor belt with prevention of missensing, wherein an electric conductor with capability of electrostatic capacity coupling with the coupling electrodes is embedded in the conveyor belt intermittently, by incorporating a paired construction in which No.1, No.2 coupling electrodes are installed with the conveyor belt interposed. CONSTITUTION:During a conveyor belt 3 being in operation high-frequency signals are given to No.1 coupling electrodes 5, 5' continuously by an electric signal generator circuit 7. When the end parts 4A and 4B of a U-shaped electric conductor 4 face coupling electrodes 5, 5' and one 6, 6', respectively, a pulse signal 9 is emitted through this electric conductor 4. A time measuring circuit 10 judges the period of said pulse signals 9, and a resultant signal is emitted to a longitudinal cracks sensing signal generator circuit 11 to actuate the alarm. At this time, accurate crack sensing is obtained without risk of malfunction despite existence of vibration in the conveyor belt owing to this paired construction that No.1 coupling electrodes 5, 5' and No.2 coupling electrodes 6, 6' are installed oppositely up and down with the belt interposed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent longitudinal cracks on a belt from being erroneously detected at a position where no loop coil is buried by providing a phase rotating circuit in the captioned device in which the longitudinal cracks is are detected by an output of a detecting coil electromagnetically coupled with the loop coil curried in a conveyor belt along its width. CONSTITUTION:The captioned device includes a detection coil 24 disposed in a confronting relation to a belt 10 so as to be electromagnetically coupled with plural loop coils 14 extending in the width direction of the belt 10 and buried in an equidistant interval. When a constant amplitude AC current is supplied to the aforesaid detecting coil 24 from a constant-current circuit 28, constant and varying fractions of voltage appear at both ends of the coil 24. Here, in order to remove the constant fraction described above, a voltage corresponding thereto is generated from a cancellation voltage generating circuit 34, and applied to a cancelleration circuit 36. In addition, only the aforesaid varying fraction is taken out, amplified 38, phase-detected by detectors 40, 42, and the resultant resistance and clearance variation components are outputted. Phase rotation is effected by a phase rotation circuit 44 based on both variation components.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent missensing and thereby enhance the reliability by installing aux. coupling electrodes adjacent to the coupling electrodes in parallel therewith, transmitting synchronous pulses upon its receiving signal, and by arranging so that the sensing signal is emitted only when synchronous pulse signals are fed. CONSTITUTION:During a conveyor 3 being in operation an electric conductor 4 faces coupling electrodes 5, 6 and aux. coupling electrodes 7, 8 periodically. Electric signals f1, f2 impressed on the coupling electrodes 5, 6 respectively Pf1, Pf2, Sf1, Sf2 are emitted from the electrodes 5-8 each time they face said electric conductor 4 to be fed into main pulse generator circuits 15, 17 and synchronous pulse circuits 16, 18 through amplifier circuits 11-14, respectively, so as to actuate emission of pulse signals P1, P2, S1, S2. If at this time only S1, S2 are fed, sensing signal generators 19, 20 emit longitudinal cracks sensing signals D1, D2. This may prevent missensing to lead to enhancement of reliability.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a rubber compsn. which gives rubber goods such as a conveyer belt and a rubber screen having an improved effect of preventing sludge or powder from depositing thereon, by blending at least one member selected from among silicone compd., polyether plasticizers and metal salts of fatty acids with raw rubber. CONSTITUTION:At least one member selected from among greasy or oily silicone compds. of the formula (wherein R, R' are each a residue of a 1-8C hydrocar bon; n is 3-2500), polyether plasticizers and metal salts of fatty acids is blended with raw rubber. Said silicone compd. may be used either alone (e.g. polydimethylsiloxane) or as a mixture of two or more compds. where R, R' and n are different. Examples of the polyether plasticizers are liquid or greasy polyoxymethylene or polyoxyethylene having an MW of 100 or above. Examples of the metal salts of the fatty acids are zinc, calcium or magnesium salt of C5-24 fatty acids (e.g. caprylic and stearic acids). They may be used either alone or as a mixture of two or more of them.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance accuracy of sensing longitudinal cracks by embedding both ends of a U-shaped electric conductor having an odd number of fold-backs in the same edge of a conveyor in such a way that fold-backs confront the edge on the other side, and by arranging coupling electrodes in the mating position. CONSTITUTION:During a conveyor 3 being in operation high-frequency electric signals are given to No.1 coupling electrodes 5, 5' continuously by an electric signal generator circuit 7, and they are fed into an electric signal amplifier circuit 8 to be further impressed on a pulse signal generator circuit 9 while one end 4A of a U-shaped electric conductor 4 faces No.1 coupling electrodes 5, 5' and, at the same time, the end 4B faces No.2 coupling electrodes 6, 6'. Thereby generation of longitudinal cracks is judged with the aid of a time measuring circuit 10 and a crack sensing signal generator circuit 11, and an alarm is emitted. This provides sink or elimination of the level of a transit signal at the time of crack generation to ensure that the sensing is carried out surely.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To test the function of a belt longitudinal burst detector easily by inserting an electromagnetic shield plate all the time between a conveyor belt equipped with loop coils for detecting a longitudinal burst of the belt and a detection end. CONSTITUTION:Plural loop coils 14 are embedded in the belt 10 breadthwise at specific lengthwise intervals, and the detection end 22 equipped with a detection coil which couples with the loop coil 14 electromagnetically is arraged opposite the conveyor belt 10. The longitudinal burst detector for the belt is tested by starting a motor 26, moving the electromagnetic shield plate 24 to between the belt 10 and detection end 22, and cutting off the electromagnetic coupling between the detection end 22 of the loop coil of the belt and the detection coil. The shield plate 24 is a sort of short ring, so a detecting circuit 32 generates an output S1. However, there is no change in state and the output of the detecting circuit is ceased, so that the output S2 of a monostable multivibrator 34 goes down to a level L. A gate 36 generates an output S3 as well as in case of a broken loop coil. The function of the belt longitudinal burst detector is tested from whether the S3 is generated or not.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the abrasion of overlapped zones by forming a conveyor belt cylindrically overlapped by multiple pressing rollers with a base layer and a reinforcing core layer and forming one side section of the overlapped zones thin. CONSTITUTION:A conveyor belt 4 is partially bent cylindrically by a group of pressing rollers, and both side sections 5, 6 are overlapped each other. In this case, the conveyor belt 4 is formed by burying a reinforcing core layer 8 in a base layer 7 made of a rubber material in one body. The reinforcing core layer 8 is formed with main layers 8a-8c made of nylon canvas or the like and a middle rubber layer 8d inserted between them. In addition, at one side section 5 of the conveyor belt 4, the distance between the main layers 8b, 8c is made smaller as compared with the distance between the main layers 8a, 8c of the other portion including the other side section 6. Accordingly, the contact pressure of both side sections 5, 6 at overlapped zones is reduced, and the abrasion of the overlapped zones can be reduced.
