Abstract:
A process that enables the formation of a high damping, soft polymer gel includes reacting a maleimide copolymer with a maleated polyalkylene and an alkyl diamine under substantially dry conditions sufficient to form a polyalkylene-grafted maleimide copolymer product which then is dispersed with an extender sufficient to form the gel. The steps can be carried out sequentially in a high shear mixer with-out the need for intermediate steps of cooling and grinding the reaction product of one step before proceeding to the next.
Abstract:
It is an object of the present invention to provide a resin composition which has a low hardness, is favorable in high loss properties ( vibration absorbing properties) and gas permeation resistance, is excellent in injection moldability, thereby enabling itself to be injection molded with stable dimensional accuracy, and which is particularly suitable for constituting an elastic member for an ink jet printer, an insulator for a recording medium drive, a gasket for an HDD and an impact absorbing material for an HDD. The above object has been achieved with a resin composition which comprises 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic elastomer containing an isobutylenic block copolymer composed of isobutylenic polymer blocks and aromatic vinylic polymer blocks, and 1 to 50 parts by weight of a polyolefin resin.
Abstract:
There are disclosed a thermoplastic elastomer composition which comprises (a) a hydrogenated block copolymer obtained by hydrogenating the block copolymer comprising at least one polymer block composed principally of a vinylic aromatic compound and at least one polymer block composed principally of a conjugated diene compound; (b) a non-aromatic base softening agent having a kinematic viscosity at 40 DEG C of at least 100 mm /sec; and (c) propylene homopolymer and/or propylene copolymer comprising propylene as a principal component which is obtained through polymerization by using a metallocene catalyst, which is free from a lubricant, which has been heat treated, or which has a MFR (melt flow rate) in a specific range; a gasket material which comprises the above thermoplastic elastomer composition and is particularly suited for use in hard disc units because of its excellent sealing properties and its capability of preventing gas generation; a method for injection molding the above composition; an external anti-sticking agent for a thermoplastic elastomer or rubber which comprises fine particulates of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene having an average particle diameter in a specific range, and which is minimized in hygroscopicity, oil absorptivity and volatility, and has high heat resistance and anti-stickiness; and rubber and/or a thermoplastic elastomer which is incorporated with the above external anti-sticking agent and imparted with anti-stickiness.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for producing a gasket for hard disc equipment which is integrated with a cover member by extruding a gasket material from an extrusion orifice of a three-dimensional automatic coating controlling apparatus onto the cover member and then curing the extruded gasket material, wherein a ratio (h/w) of a height (h) of the gasket to a line width (w) of the gasket on a joint surface between the gasket and the cover member is in the range of 0.8 to 3.0 in a 80% or more portion of the gasket.

Of THE DISCLOSURE A conveyor belt having a cover layer and a core layer is disclosed. An adhesion-proofing agent is contained in the cover layer. The conveyor belt further has a migration-proofing layer provided between the cover layer and the core layer for preventing migration of the adhesion-proofing agent in the cover layer to the core layer.
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a gasket for a hard disk device, comprising the steps of extruding gasket material from the extrusion port of an automatic three-dimensional coating control device to a cover body and hardening the extruded gasket material to form the cover body integrally with the gasket, characterized in that the ratio (h/w) of the height (h) of the gasket to the line width (w) of the adhesive surface of the gasket to the cover body comes within the range of 0.8 to 3.0 in the portion of 80% or more of the gasket.
