Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition useful for electrically-driven tools, etc., having large inner loss related to reduction of solid sound and high modulus of elasticity in a wide temperature range, comprising a specific ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and a specific ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:The object composition comprising (A) 50-90wt.% ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer having 20-50(mol)% ethylene content and (B) 50-10wt.% ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer composed of (i) an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having 40-50(mol)% ethylene content and (ii) an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having 55-80(mol)% ethylene content preferably in a ratio of 1/4 to 4/1.

As the polyolefin compsn., a polyethylene compsn. is pref. and used in an amt. of 0.2-6 phr. The staining preventive is used in an amt. of 0.5-6 phr and in an amt. of 40-60 % of the polyolefin compsn.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a vibration damping and sound insulating resin composition, composed of specific amounts of poly-4-methylpentene-1 and a thermoplastic resin blended therein, having high value of utilization as a lightweight sound insulating material useful for reducing noise of internal combustion engines, motors, gears, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is obtained by blending 10-100wt.% poly-4-methylpentene-1 (the amount of the one having preferably 20-60g/10min melt index is 30-100wt.%) with a thermoplastic resin (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate) and, as necessary, a reinforcing material such as glass fiber, a filler, etc. The above-mentioned composition has small internal loss within the temperature region of 40-80 deg.C.
