Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the noise absorbing performance by forming a noise absorber with a porous material to form an air layer by itself in a space to a hard substrate. CONSTITUTION:A galvanized plate with the center deformed inside is used as a hard substrate 1, a casing 2 is formed of similar material to encircle the substrate 1, a slab fiber molding 3 is put in the casing 2 on the sound source side to form its surface as a side face 3A on the sound source side and an air layer 5 is provided between the back of the molding 3 and the substrate 1. The molding 3 is molded into an aggregate of average apparent density 0.04-0.15g/cm by using short fiber raw material of 30 deniers or less from the center of fiber size distribution and ventilation resistance in the molding 3 is increased for better noise absorbing performance. In this way, the molding 3 possible to mold into a free shape allows various wavy shapes on the surface and higher noise absorbing ability as a result of the existence of the air layer 5 and the noise absorbing performance of the molding 3 combined.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve drainage performance, and to minimize the deterioration of the sound-absorbing characteristics of a sound absorptive object by reducing the sectional area of the sound absorptive object for a sound-isolating device disposed in upright at a place requiring sound isolation on the outdoor side towards a lower section and quickly draining infiltrating moisture. SOLUTION: The lower end side is thinner than the upper end side in the wall thickness of a sound absorptive object 1, or an approximately triangular notch 2 is formed on the lower end side of the sound absorptive object 1 and a sectional area is reduced. Consequently, the drainage of moisture infiltrating into the sound absorptive object 1 by a rainfall, etc., is promoted, and the deterioration of sound-absorbing characteristics is inhibited at a minimum. Sections among layers are used as drainage paths, water is extremely easy to flow in the sound absorptive object 1 and both sound-absorbing performance and drainage performance can be improved by forming the sound absorptive object 1 in superposed layer-shaped structure by employing a fiber sound-absorbing material consisting of inorganic fibers, synthetic fibers or natural fibers having excellent water permeability and sound-absorbing characteristics.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound absorptive object, which prevents an infiltration to the sound absorptive object of moisture such as rain in the case of a use in the outdoors or the like, in which sound absorbing qualities are not damaged by a waterproof means and which is lightweight and has excellent workability. SOLUTION: The sound absorptive object is composed of fiber aggregate 2, and molded and solidified by a binder having a fibrous form. The surface 5 of the fiber aggregate 2 has a coating-treated layer 6 water-repellent treated by a ceramic water-repellent agent. Since moisture such as rain is repelled without having an effect on sound-absorbing qualities, the deterioration of the sound-absorbing qualities of the sound absorptive object 1 due to the infiltration of moisture can be prevented, and workability is also improved without largely increasing weight. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water repellent composition which makes a sound absorber waterproof, is suited to make a sound absorber (e.g. fiber aggregate) water- repellent without detriment to its sound absorption and has an excellent persistent water-repellent effect and to obtain a sound absorber treated therewith and having a persistent inhibiting effect on sound absorption without being lowered by water. SOLUTION: This water repellent composition is prepared by adding a silane coupling agent and/or a reactive monomer such as an acrylic monomer to a ceramic-based water repellent base. This sound absorber 10 is prepared by forming a layer 14 of the water repellent composition on the sound-absorbing surface 12A side (the surface permeated with water) of a sound-absorbing layer 12 made of a fiber aggregate. The layer 14 is formed by spraying the aggregate with the composition or by impregnating the aggregate with the composition.
