    Abstract: PURPOSE:To surely hold a part, etc., without damaging it, by installing a plurality of tubes onto a core body and expanding each tube by pouring fluid into each tube and catching the part by utilizing the hole on the part, in a catching device for cylindrical parts, etc. CONSTITUTION:Each edge of a tube 2 having the opened ports at the both edges is installed in sealed state onto the upper and lower parts of a hard core body 1. A flow passage 3 for pouring fluid such as air into the tube 2 is formed on the core body 1, and in each flow passage 3, a piping hose 4 is connected, and a valve 5 is installed midway in the hose 4, and a fluid feeding source 6 is connected. The fluid such as air which is supplied from the fluid feeding source 6 is distributed into each piping hose 4 from the position of the valve 5, and flows into the passage 3, and expands the tube 2. The drawing shows the state where a part W is caught. The tube 2 is opened at the both edges, and installed in sealed state onto the outer peripheral surface of the core body 1 by the caulking rings 7 and 8.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To form an optimum expander easily according to characteristics and applications, etc., of an object to be held as well as to improve the extent of durability in this expander by forming a surface layer at the expansion surface side of a tube, and forming the expander into at least a two-layer structure. CONSTITUTION:A surface layer 4 is formed only in a surface, where a tube 3 is actually expanded, by means of coating, laminating or the like. A desired expander 1 is constituted by a two-layer structure consisting of this tube 3 and the surface layer 4. In a usual service state of this expander 1, a compressive strain acts on the surface layer 4 all the time, so that even if a small flaw is made on the surface, it will not come to a large one at once, thus durability in the expander 1 is improvable.
