Abstract: The photoelectric converter includes a transparent substrate (1) with a photoelectric converting element opposes a document (6) for reading of image information. A tramsparent support (2) holds the substrate, and a light source (3) is held at a surface of the support opposite to a supporting surface for the substrate. Light emitted from the light source is radiated on a document through the support and the substrate, and reflected light is received by the photoelectric converting element. An adhesive layer (5) retains the substrate on the support which carries conductive tracks (4) for the converting element. A light shield eliminates stray light. A light adjuster enusres uniform light distribution.
