Abstract: This specification discloses a sheet feeding device for feeding sheets from a sheet supporting bed such as a cassette or a deck, and more particularly a sheet feeding device having a sheet supporting bed holding sheets thereon and adapted to be removably mounted at a predetermined position in an image forming apparatus, a rotatable member for contacting the sheets on the sheet supporting bed and feeding the sheets when the sheet supporting bed is mounted at the predetermined position in the image forming apparatus, support means for supporting the rotatable member for idle rotation by a predetermined amount in a forward direction and a reverse direction, and intermittent means for intermittently connecting the support means to a drive source. The sheet supporting bed includes, for example, a cassette type one which can be perfectly removed from the image forming apparatus or, for example, a drawing type one which can be pulled out and inserted relative to the predetermined position while remaining engaged with the image forming apparatus.

CONSTITUTION:Front, middle, and rear slide shutters 12-14 controlling the movement of the photosensitive body and a passing range in the vertical direction, in a width blank exposure 6, are slid to move on a rail 15 supported by a lower frame 11. On the other hand, in a shutter 23 selectively controlling passing in an exposure for leading and tailing edge blanks 8, both end parts in the longitudinal direction are turnably supported by a rotation center 24. At this time. out of exposing means, the shutters 12-14 are provided so as to get near to the photosensitive body 1 as much as possible, and the edge part of a distance image forming region can be sharply exposed. Moreover, the shutter 23 is provided so as to get near to an exposing lamp 17, as much as possible, a region where the diffusion of a luminous flux is lessened, can be regulated, and the ON-OFF of an optical path can be attained by a minimum stroke.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To surely supply the desired quantity of toner to a blade edge by making a cleaning blade attachable to/detachable from the casing of a cleaning device and attaching a container in which lubricant is sealed near the edge of the cleaning blade press-contacting with an image carrier. CONSTITUTION:The cleaning blade 2 is attached to a supporting member 3 which is attached to the casing of the cleaning device, and a film 20 is attached on the surface near the edge of the blade 2 press-contacting with the image carrier by sticking the periphery of the film 20, then the lubricant is sealed in the inner space. By inverting and stretching one edge part 22 of the film 20 after the supporting member 3 is attached to the casing of the cleaning device with the blade 2, the film 20 is peeled from the surface of the blade 2 and the lubricant in the inner space overflows in the vicinity of the blade edge. Thus, the necessary and sufficient toner is surely supplied to the blade edge at the beginning of starting the blade.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of the turning over of a blade and to always stably achieve cleaning by controlling a rotary member, which removes toner stagnating at the edge part of a cleaning blade, in such a manner that it can rotate normally and reversely. CONSTITUTION:This cleaner C is provided with a casing formed from frames 23 and 21. In the casing a shaft 36 driven by an independent driving source is disposed, and a vane 44 is attached to a supporting member 43 mounted to the shaft 36. A motor which drives the shaft 36 is provided independently of a motor which drives an image carrier, and can freely controls normal and reverse rotations. Therefore, by properly rotating the vane 44 in normal and reverse directions, toner which is present near the blade edge can constantly hold a certain amount of lubricant. Thus, the occurrences of blade-curve and toner fusion can be prevented.

CONSTITUTION:A scraper 53 for removing residual toner is arranged in the longitudinal direction of the photosensitive drum and outside the end of the blade so that it crosses the surface where the side seal 51 is in contact with the blade; the scraper 53 is arranged more downstream than the blade and the side seal 51, in the rotating direction of the photosensitive drum. Toner which leaks from the surface, where the blade is in contact with the side seal 51, is scraped by the scraper 53 and scatters in a space by its own momentum.
