    Abstract: A data communication apparatus such as a facsimile is constructed by a communication unit to transmit and receive data, an output unit such as a printer to output the data received by the communication unit, and a connection unit such as an LAN to connect one or more external apparatuses. When the image size and resolution of the received image data exceed the output-capable ability of the output unit, the transfer unit transfers the received data. When the data is transferred by the transfer unit, such a fact is notified to the user.
