Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sustain a high image quality by enhancing the quality of reused ink. SOLUTION: Ink ejected from the ejection opening 13 of an ink jet recording head 1 is collected in an ink collecting tub 106 and sucked by means of a suction pump 2 to flow into an ink collecting passage 18. Pressure of the collected ink is measured by means of a sensor 7 before the ink passes through a filter 6. Measured pressure of ink in the ink collecting passage 18 is then expressed in terms of the flow rate of ink by means of a calculating unit 9. If the flow rate determined through measurement is lower than a first reference value as the use limit of the filter 6, i.e., a limit value of the flow rate of ink, the calculating unit 9 urges replacement of the filter 6 on an LED 17.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a quantity of ink passing a filter increases proportional to the elongation of a product life and impurities pile up in the filter in accordance with the lapse of use years to clog the filter and obstructs the circulation of the ink, whereby the ink cannot be normally supplied to a recording head, an image quality is deteriorated and the recording head is broken because of null discharging of the ink. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording apparatus comprises the recording means for discharging the ink thereby recording on recording sheets, and an ink-storing means for storing the ink to be supplied to the recording means. An ink- collecting means is set for collecting the ink discharged from ink discharge ports of the recording means and supplying the ink again to the ink-storing means. A route in which the ink is supplied to the recording means from the storing means is made an ink supply route, and an ink channel from the ink discharge ports to the ink-storing means is made an ink collection route. The first filter is set in the ink supply route and the second filter is installed in the ink collection route.

The ink jet recording apparatus is provided with means for removing foreign matters accumulated in the foreign matter-removing means.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make possible a document display without sense of incongruity by scrolling a display image in the upper or lower direction at a moving amount based on the height of a character in a raw containing the character of an adjacent row when the character of the adjacent row exist on the position exceeding the upper or lower frame of the display image. SOLUTION: For instance, when a cursor 54 exists on the uppermost step position of the display picture 51, when a joy stick is operated to display the upper row coming off form the picture, a CPU detects a row pitch L (decided by a maximum character height +α in the row that the cursor 54 exists) from the position where the cursor 54 exists to its upper row, and detects the maximum character height H in the row to be displayed. Then, a value that the maximum character height in the row that the cursor 54 exists is subtracted from the sum of the obtained L and H is made an amount to be scrolled. Then, lower scroll is performed based on the obtained amount. In such a manner, since the scroll display is performed based on the height of the character, the document display without the sense of incongruity becomes possible.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect the abnormality of image data caused by the abnormality of a scanner on the transmission side by detecting an abnormal image pattern generated by image read error on the transmission side and outputting an alarm in the case of receiving images. CONSTITUTION:The received image data are recorded from a printer 6 through a RAM 5. The image data received at that time are returned to the binary image data and developed in the work area of the RAM 5 after demodulation and decode at a MODEM 4. For example, when dust is stuck to the scanner on the transmission side, black longitudinal lines are formed in the sub scan direction over the entire size of the image under reception. A CPU 1 inspects whether prescribed picture elements in scan lines are continued and turned to black data over the sub scan direction of one page in the binary image data of the RAM 5 or not. Then, when any abnormal image pattern is discovered, a message is transmitted form the reception side to the transmission side so as to alarm the abnormality of the scanner.
