Abstract: PURPOSE:To substantially prevent the generation of a recording error in reciprocal recording, by not only substantially shifting the impact point of a recording liquid on an object to be recorded by integer-times of a dot pitch but also differentiating the emitting timings of the recording liquid in forward and backward paths. CONSTITUTION:In a liquid jet recording apparatus for performing reciprocal recroding, the relation of the distance L between an ink jet head 2 and recording paper P, the absolute value V of the moving speed of the head 2 and the absolute value (v) of an ink emitting speed is set so that the shift of the impact points of ink emitted at the same position on recording paper in the forward and backward paths in the reciprocal movement of the head 2 is substantially n- times [wherein (n) is an integer] of a dot pitch. Further, by preliminarily adjusting the emitting timing of the ink in the forward and backward paths by counting the same over n-dots, the recording error in the reciprocal movement of the head is eliminated or markedly reduced unless the above-mentioned distance L is especially made small.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to prevent the inadvertent forgetting of capping to a recording liquid discharge port, by providing a control circuit for closing the recording liquid discharge port of a recording head by a cap apparatus prior to performing the cutting-OFF of a power source circuit. CONSTITUTION:When a main switch 21 is turned OFF, a one-shot multiplier 25 resets CPU26 but, because a cap sensor switch 24 is set to a 24'-side, AND29 comes to L and an inverter 30 is brought to H to turn a transistor Tr1 ON while a power source circuit 23 is held under an ON-state because a sub-switch 22 is closed. In the next step, a carriage is returned to the home position by the signal from a driver circuit 27 and, when this operation is detected, an ink discharge port is covered with a cap by the order of CPU26. Whereupon, the cap sensor switch 24 is set to a 24''-side and the output of AND 29 is brought to H to turn the power source circuit 23 OFF. By this method, the solidification and clogging of ink at the recording liquid discharge port can be prevented.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reproduce faithfully the color of an original picture regardless of the ground color of the printer paper by providing a means which detects the color of the printer paper and correcting the color signals to be printed by the output of said color detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A printer paper 1 is fed through paper feed rolls 6 and 7 and detected by a paper position detecting sensor 5. Then a paper position detecting sensor circuit 34 works, and a light emitting part 8 of a light emitting circuit 30 for paper color detecting sensor. Thus the paper 1 is irradiated. The reflected light of the paper 1 is received by photodetecting parts 9-11 of the paper color sensor. The output signals R', G' and B' are processed by a YMC conversion circuit 21 and a gamma correction circuit 22 and stored to a latch circuit 29 (in the form of Y', M' and C' signals). Changeover switches 26 and 27 supply the input signals R, G and B to the circuit 21 and connects the circuit 22 to a subtractor circuit 28 after a delay time produced by a delay circuit 32. While the circuits 30 and 28 are turned off respectively and on after a delay time of a delay circuit 33 to produce the difference signals between signals R, G and B and signal Y', M' and C' obtained by giving the YMC conversion to signals Y, M and C respectively.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain a simple constitution of the titled controller by counting the output signals of an encoder in both going and coming-back routes of a traveling object and controlling the revolutions of a motor after the count value of said output signals reaches a prescribed level. CONSTITUTION:A carriage drive motor 15 is reversed to shift a print head 13 to its home position. Then the motor 15 is revolved forward to shift the head 13 horizontally. In this case, the motor 15 is not contolled and receive the maximum voltage since no slit is formed at the beginning part of an encoder 11. The slits are provided to the following sections and counted by a counter. Then the servocontrol is given to the motor 15 for the first time when the count value of the counter reaches Na. Thus the head 13 is driven at an equal speed for printing. The voltage value applied to the motor 15 is set at 0 when the counter value reaches (Na+Nb). Then the carriage is gradually decelerated and then stopped. Then the counter is reset and the adverse voltage is applied to the motor 15 for reverse revolutions. The motor drive is first accelerated like the case of the going route mode, and the motor drive is controlled to an equal speed mode for printing. Then the carriage is decelerated and stopped.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate recording error by setting a comparison level to be compared with an encoder output signal generated by the movement of a liquid jet head in a reciprocating paths so that the arrival points are substantially brought to coincident positions. CONSTITUTION:The arrival points on a record sheet P are brought to position X in both forward and backward movements by exhausting ink at the point A in the forward and at the point B in the backward in response to the forward speed +V of the head 2, the backward speed -V, ink discharge speed v, and the distance L between the head 2 and the sheet P. Thus, the output signal Es of the encoder generated by the relative movement between the head 2 and the sheet P is compared with the threshold value Eth, as shown, to determine the ink discharge timing, thereby bringing the ink arrival points to coincident positions of X, Y and Z in both forward and backward directions on the sheet P.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make a recorder compact, by using a recording paper conveyance driver to displace a discharge roller from a put-away position to a working position in the paper conveyance line of the recorder after recording, so that the quality of printing is kept from being affected by the position of the discharge roller. CONSTITUTION:The length of a conveyance passage extending from the discharge position of a discharge roller 124 to the recording position of a platen 101 is set to be shorter than that of recording paper. The discharge roller 124 is put out of the discharge position through a friction clutch 115 and a sector gear 118 by a pulse motor M1 which is originally for rotating the platen 101, while recording is being performed. When it is detected that the recording paper is moved out from between the platen 101 and a pinch roller 120, the pulse motor M1 is reversed to displace the discharge roller 124 to the discharge position, and an elastic roller 124a is rotated by a motor M2 to discharge the recording paper. According to this constitution, the accuracy of conveyance of the recording paper is maintained, the number of drivers is reduced, and a recorder is made compact.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To decrease the number of drive sources to make it possible to simplify the mechanism of a paper feed system in a recording device, by retracting a paper feed roller from its operating position by the drive force of a drive source for feeding a recording paper, before recording. CONSTITUTION:When a motor M2 is driven to rotate the rubber section 120a of a paper feed roller 120 the topmost recording paper alone is fed out, and a timer is simultaneously set. If the recording paper does not pass a paper sensor 101 just before a platen 101 within a predetermined time, the rotation of the motor m2 is stopped while a motor M1 is rotated in the direction D by a predetermined number of pulses, and therefore, the paper feed roller 120 and a paper discharge roller 124 are retracted by means of a gear 10, a friction clutch 115 and a sector gear 118 to carry out the disposal of paper jamming. If no jamming occures when the paper 101 is bit into between the platen 101 and a registering roller 103, the motor M1 is stopped, and then is rotated in the direction D by a predetermined number of pulses to be held at a printing position.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To vary printing size with a simple construction, by providing a light- emitting part capable of emitting light with a plurality of wavelengths, an encoder provided with slits for passing the light therethrough, a color filter, and a single light-receiving part for receiving the light passed through the slit. CONSTITUTION:In a photo-coupler 14, the color filter 33 transmits a light flux emitted when a light-emitting diode D1 is operated. When a light-emitting diode D2 is operated, the filter 33 attenuates the light flux thus emitted, but does not completely shield the light flux. A light flux received by a phototransistor 32 (a light-receiving part) through a light-receiving slit part 34 is not received at a light-shielding part in a section b1, and the maximum light flux is received at a light-transmitting part thereof. In a section b2, the light is not received at a light-shielding part, like the light-shielding part in the section b1, while a small quantity of light flux is received at a light-transmitting part thereof. The outputs of comparators 51 and 52 in a sensor circuit 50 cooperating with the photo- coupler 14 are connected respectively to an S terminal and an L terminal of a change-over switch SW, and the switch SW is changed over, thereby the printing size is varied to a small size or a large size.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To commonly use a drive source and as well to prevent an extra paper from being fed, in a paper feed system in a recording device, by providing a unidirectional transmission mechanism for inhibiting the rotation of a paper feed roller during a discharge roller discharging a recording paper. CONSTITUTION:When a motor M2 is driven to be rotated in the direction opposite to the direction C so that a discharge roller 124 is rotated in the direction B, a paper is discharged from between a platen 101 and a pinch roller 104. The torque of the motor M2 is in the direction opposite with respect to an one-way cluth for a paper feed roller 120 which therefore does not rotate, and therefore, no affection is made to papers in a cassette. Further after completion of the paper discharge, when the motor M2 is stopped while a motor M1 is rotated by a predetermined number of pulses in the direction D, the paper feed and discharge rollers 120, 124 are retracted. With this arrangement, both paper feed and discharge rollers 120, 124 may be driven by one and the same drive source M2, and as well no feed of extra papers occures.
