Abstract: An image recording apparatus has a first recording-sheet storing section for storing a first recording sheet, a second recording-sheet storing section for storing a second recording sheet, a serial recording head for effecting image recording on the first recording sheet while travelling with respect to the first recording sheet, a line recording head for effecting image recording on the second recording sheet when the second recording sheet is in a stationary state, a first conveying device for conveying the first recording sheet to the position of the serial recording head; and the second conveying device for conveying the second recording sheet to the position of the line recording head. With this arrangement, it is possible to selectively effect serial recording and line recording and, in addition, to effect recording from an original document as well as recording and reproduction of the thus-read original document. Accordingly, a single recording apparatus can be used to achieve both serial recording and line recording.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the size of an automatic document feeding device and to install a discharge document loading part in a place where an impact is not exerted by a human body by openably mounting the automatic document feeding device in a position above a document reading device and forming a recessed part for loading feed documents and discharge documents in the upper surface part of the automatic document feeding device body with which a document reading part on the document reading device is covered. CONSTITUTION:Through rotation of sheet feed and separation rollers 9 and 10, a lowermost feed document 16 in a recessed part 25 for loading feed documents is separated by means of the roller 10 and fed by means of the roller 9. When the document is fed through a document feed port 25b, it is guided by means of a guide plate 27 and a guide roller 30 and fed on a document reading part 6, and is conveyed over the reading part 6 to a given position by means of a two-end belt 13. In which case, a reading sensor in a duplicator body 5 is moved over a guide rail 22 in a conveying direction to perform reading of the document. When reading of the document by the unit 21 is completed, the belt 13 is rotated in the direction of an arrow mark again. The document 16 forms a discharge document 19 and is loaded in a recessed part 26 for loading discharge documents through a discharge port 26b as the discharge document is guided by means of a guide plate 29 and a roller 31.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify assemblage and to certainly carry out separation, in a copying machine and others by forming one body out of an energization unit to press a sheet to a rotary body, on an elastic member bringing a frictional member in contact with the rotary body to transport sheets. CONSTITUTION:A first stay 3e1 and a second stay 3e2 are installed in the upstream and the downstream in the transport direction on a cover body 3b sandwiching a separation roller 3d, and additionally, a frictional member 3f is installed free to rotate on the center of a shaft 3g and is energized and made contact with the peripheral surface of the separation roller 3d with pressure by an elastic member 3h. This elastic member 3h forms a downward protruded part 3h3 and an upward protruded part 3h4, and additionally forms a cut-off part 3h5 in the center and forms an energization part 3h6 in projection. Thereafter, the frictional member 3f is pressurized with the energization part 3h6, and a script 2 is separated with the downward protruded part 3h3 and pressurized with the separation roller 3d. In this constitution, it is possible to simplify assemblage and to certainly carry out separation.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a tray from being protruded from a device main body by forming the upper face of the device main body into the sheet discharge tray, providing a sheet discharge means liftably against the tray, and detecting the use time and nonuse time for the lifting drive. CONSTITUTION:The upper face 2a of a device main body 2 is formed into a sheet discharge tray, and a sheet discharge means 13 is provided liftably against the upper face 2a. When a cassette 7 stored with sheets P is inserted into the main body 2 and a switch 22 is turned on for use, a drive motor 17 is operated by the direction of a control means 3. The sheet discharge means 13 is lifted higher than the sheet discharge tray 2a by a rack 15, and sheets P are discharged on the tray 2a. During the nonuse time when the detecting switch 22 is turned off, the upper face 13a of the sheet discharge means 13 is lowered to the same plane as the tray 2a by the direction of the control means 3. The tray 2a is not protruded from the main body 2, thus the installation area can be reduced.

In such a way, it is possible to erase the arbitrary position of an original easily.
