Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fill a liquid jet recording head with a desired quantity of filler without clogging the open end of a nozzle or leaking liquid between the end face of the nozzle and an orifice plate. SOLUTION: In the front face 11h of a chip tank 11, an opening 11g for exposing a nozzle end face 3 formed by bonding an element substrate 1 and a grooved top plate 5 is made along with a seal groove 11b surrounding the opening 11g and having such dimensions as can feed a filler by capillarity. In the upper surface 11f of the chip tank 11, first and second slits 11e, 11e are made to communicate with the seal groove 11b. End parts of the first and second slits 11e, 11e, i.e., ejecting parts 21, are formed at such positions as not covered with a fixing margin 6c when an orifice plate 6 is fixed to the body section 20.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid-jet recording head and a manufacturing method whereby the generation of satellite liquid drops is suppressed and a printing quality is improved. SOLUTION: A resin molding 10A of a top plate constituting the liquid-jet recording head is uniformly and accurately formed by cutting a liquid channel groove form face 13 and a reference butt face 14 by a cutter 1, cutting a discharge opening surface 15 of an orifice plate 12 by a cutter 2 and removing a deflection of the orifice plate 12 resulting from resin molding. At this time of cutting, the discharge opening surface 15 is formed by an inclined cutting face of the cutter 2 to be inclined by an angle α equal to an angle of incidence αof a laser light L for processing a discharge opening 17 later. The discharge opening surface 15 is formed perpendicularly to a liquid discharge axis direction of the discharge opening 17. Since an angular difference is not generated to an edge of the discharge opening, main drops of liquid drops discharged from the discharge opening and satellite drops are let to fly in the same direction, thereby improving the printing quality.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a state where ink is not present in the vicinity of an opening communicating with the atmosphere easily even if ink is collected in the vicinity of an ink supply opening of the negative pressure generating member containing section of an ink tank by disposing both openings on the opposite faces and locating the opening communicating with the atmosphere at a higher position. SOLUTION: When an ink jet recorder is loaded with an ink jet cartridge, an ink supply opening 209 is located on the underside. An opening 208 communicating with the atmosphere and the ink supply opening 209 are disposed oppositely to the upper and lower faces, respectively, in a negative pressure generating member containing section and a negative pressure generating member, i.e., an ink absorber 205, is interposed between. Ink is supplied from an ink containing section 204 to the negative pressure generating member containing section 203 depending on pressure variation incident to consumption of ink on the head unit side. Since ink is normally present in the negative pressure generating member containing chamber, the ink containing section 204 is sealed hermetically and the inner pressure decreases as the ink is supplied.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To complement a failed part of recording by a main recording head and to improve the ratio of conforming items by using one of a plurality of recording heads with the same width as a main recording head and another one as a sub-recording head and making them exchangable. SOLUTION: A main recording head A and a sub-recording head B have respectively a base plate 1 and a heater board 2 is bonded on the top face and a plurality of jetting energy generating elements are arranged. In addition, the main recording head A and the sub-recording head B are fixed in such a way that their base plates 1 are joined together by fixing means 19a and 19b so as to coincide the positions of mutual outlet positions with each other. By using two heads combined like this, some nozzles driven at certain orders of the whole width do not record on the main recording head A side but instead of these, the sub-recording head B performs recording by the number of imperfect nozzles of the main recording head A. It is possible thereby to use heads which have been thrown away before as failed parts as good articles.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head of which member having grooves is hardly contracted and bent even when the number of ejection nozzles is large. SOLUTION: There is disclosed an ink jet head which is equipped with a substrate having ejection energy generating sections, grooves respectively corresponding to the ejection energy generating sections and a member 14 having grooves and ejection nozzles each communicated to one end of the respective groove. Liquid passages each of which is communicated to the respective ejection nozzle is formed such that the substrate and the member 14 having the grooves are bonded with each other and liquid drops are ejected from the ejection nozzles via the liquid passages. The member 14 having the groove comprises a resin section forming the grooves and ejection nozzles and a heat deformation suppressing member 30 which is integrally formed with the resin section, extended in the arrangement direction of the ejection nozzles and has a thermal expansion coefficient that is smaller than that of the resin section. The heat deformation suppressing member 30 comprises a passage 31 for supplying a liquid to a common liquid chamber and a stopper section 34 for being stopped to the resin section.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the dispersion of the distance between an orifice palate back surface and a groove end and to make uniform the ink discharging amount from respective nozzles by adding a mask for regulating the groove orifice side end part to the patterning mask part of the ink passage groove in a recording head. SOLUTION: The mask 25 for regulating the passage groove end part provided with a first movable mechanism 22 capable of slightly moving is arranged in the laser beam 2 side of an ink passage forming mask 27 fixed to an upper plate member 23 of a second movable mechanism 21 provided a mask part 10 on the frame of a machining device. Respective masks are mutually arranged in parallel within a laser beam flux, further a distance L is provided between both masks in an optical axis direction. In this constitution, at least a part of the laser beam 2 is reflected or absorbed with the regulating mask 25 in order to precisely form the groove end under machining. Moreover, the mask 27 and the regulating mask 25 are preferably movable for regulating the position in three or more axial directions to the laser beam 2 and the mask 27, respectively.
