The data block of the decoded NXN picture elements is given to a de-blocking circuit 5 and reproduced as the picture element data of P picture element X Q lines.

When the same constituent element as a target notation or a KANJI division pattern is optionally specified from the key input part 4, the CPU 1 retrieves single KANJI matching the specified constituent element or KANJI pattern and displays it as a candidate. Optional single KANJI is selected out of the candidate group as the target notation.
