Abstract: Universal switched power converter having a transformer that comprises a first winding (11-3) divided into two parts and having an intermediate tap (11-3-1), and a second winding (11-9) connected in cascade with rectifier means (12) and filter means (13), so that a first current flows through the part of said first winding (11-3) comprised between the end of the primary winding (11-3) connected to a first input terminal (11-1) and the intermediate tap (11-3-1) and through a second switching element (11-6) connected to the intermediate tap (11-3-1) and to a second input terminal (11-2), when the input voltage applied across the input terminals (11-1, 11-2) is close to a first predetermined voltage value and the second switching element (11-6) is in a conducting state.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resonance switched power converter in which the end of a resonant period coincides with the start of a conducting period of a first switching element 11-4, undesirable dead times being avoided during the operation of a self-excited synchronous rectifier 11-6. SOLUTION: To achieve this, a first capacitor 11-8 is added which has the characteristic that its capacitance is a function of the duty cycle of the first switching element 11-4. The variation in the value of the capacitance of the first capacitor 11-8 is implemented by adding in parallel thereto a series combination of a second capacitor 11-8-1 and a second switching element 11-8-2. The value of the capacitance varies between a first value and a second value.

A 1st current flows through the part of the 1st winding 11-3 located between the end of the 1st winding 11-3, connected to a 1st input terminal 11-1 and the intermediate tap 11-3-1 and through a 2nd switching device 11-6, connected to the intermediate tap 11-3-1 and to a 2nd input terminal 11-2, when the input voltage applied across the input terminals 11-1 and 11-2 is close to a 1st prescribed voltage value and the 2nd switching device 11-6 is in a conducting state.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic integrator of a planar inductor for a switched power converter comprising a filter means connected to a load for supplying zero ripple current. SOLUTION: A planar inductor 20 contains a magnetic core, comprising an E-type standardized magnetic-core section, and the outside leg part of the section is wound with first and second coils 21 and 22 which are magnetically combined for acquiring a leakage inductance, respectively. Thus, a common magnetic flux maintained by the coils 21 and 22 is guided in a ferromagnetic circuit formed with the outside leg part of a magnetic core, and the magnetic flux related to the leak inductance 21-2 is guided into a single outside leg part and a central leg part.
