The spacers are adjustable in their vertical position and thereby provide continuous coupling fine-adjustment. Abstract: An adjustable microwave diplexer comprising two combline filter sections (A and B). Each filter section has at least three tunable resonator elements (1,2,3 and 4). Non-adjacent resonator elements of one section (A) are inductively coupl ed by an adjustable coupling element (20,21), and non-adjacent resonator elements of the other section (B) are capacitively coupled by an adjustable capacitor element (31). This arrangement provides the means to achieve adjustable transmission zeros above the passband of filter A and below the passband of filter B to provide the diplexer with two highly selective filters.

Abstract: A dual band combiner for combining two frequency bands having a 2:1 relationship, e.g. 900MHz and 1800MHz. The combiner comprises and upper frequency bandpass filter section and an upper frequency bandstop filter. The bandpass filter section comprises two open-end resonations whose lengths are 1/2 wavelength of the upper frequency band, and the bandstop filter comprises three open-end resonators whose lengths are 1/4 wavelength of the upper frequency band. Because of the 2:1 frequency relationship pronounced selectivity-enhancing transmission zeros are produced at the lower frequency band, thereby providing a combiner that has high isolation between ports while maintaining low insertion loss.
