Abstract:
A modulator effects a series of filtering operations on successively scanned telegraphic signal channels. For this purpose a scanner scans the telegraphic signal channels and provides an output to a digital filter having a series of filter sections which are supplied with signals according to prescribed filter coefficients. These coefficients are stored in memories to be applied to the filter sections depending upon the state of each channel at the time it is scanned. The output of the digital filter is converted into analog format for transmission.
Abstract:
Group modulator having digital operation for processing samples taken from n voice frequency channels. Digitized samples are divided into a plurality of subgroups, for example two subgroups of n/2 channels, and applied through first and second double modulation circuits. The respective outputs of the modulation circuits are applied through a circuit which is alternately switched to add and subtract the outputs. After the sums and remainders have been passed through a digital to analog converter, they are alternately switched to be applied through separate analog filters having different pass bands to a common output.
Abstract:
Digital system which, from n voice frequency channels, furnishes a band of a frequency multiplex system, for example, a primary base group of twelve channels of 4 kHz each, covering the band 60 - 108 kHz, and comprises between an analog-digital input converter receiving the voice frequency channels and a digitalanalog output converter emitting the desired band, only members of the digital type operating on digital information or data ''''words.
Abstract:
A digital waveform generator is used to generate n periodic waveforms which have the same shape. It has a memory store into which is store a series of preset numerical values representing samples of a wave, and a unit to control the output of the memory store and to generate the wave. The unit is driven by a clock. The unit has a counting assembly followed by an encoder. The counting assembly has a binary counter controlled by the clock. A computing unit is connected to the counter and to an auxiliary memory in which is stored an initial periodic ratio. The clock provides the sampling frequency and the counting assembly provides the periodic ratios at definite instants to give the waveform required.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Non-recursive low-pass filter in the delta configuration has a structure that requires less precision and stability than that demanded of classical transverse type. Basically the filter handling sampled signals consists of a chain of delay or phase shifting elements when the delay is inversely proportional to the sampling rate. A summing circuit recombines the outputs from the chain elements and weights them according to the coefficient characteristics of the filter. Two auxiliary summing circuits preceed the final one and apply coefficients of -1 and +1. The chain is synchronised from two clock source, a further such sources acting as a current detector.
