Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a composition comprising a pH-sensitive microcapsule comprising (1) a shell wall comprising at least one polymer chosen from cellulose derivatives and acrylate derivatives, and at least one structuring agent chosen from shellac, ethyl cellulose, and fumed silica, and (2) at least one functional ingredient encapsulated inside the shell wall; and a carrier having a pH of less than about 7. Further disclosed herein are methods of making a composition comprising a pH-sensitive microcapsule.
Abstract:
A water soluble container having disposed therein a nonaqueous liquid fabric softener composition. The container is formed from a polymer chosen from the group consisting of polyvinyl alcohols, polyvinyl alcohols copolymers, partially hydrolysed polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, alkyl celluloses and their ethers and esters, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, dextrin maltodextrin, polyacrylates, polyacrymides and acrylic acid/maleic anhydride copolymers. The softener composition comprises at least one organic softening agent chosen from the group consisting of fatty acid soaps, glycerol esters, ethoxylated fatty esters, fatty alcohols, polyol polymers, higer fatty acid esters of pentaerythritol, silicone oil compounds, olein esterquat compounds, olein amido-amine compounds, quaternised alkyl imidazoline compounds, synthetic esters and natural esters.
Abstract:
A unit dose wash cycle fabric softening composition for softening or conditioning fabrics in the wash cycle of an automatic washing machine, said unit dose comprising a compacted granular fabric softener composition comprising a softening clay component in an amount sufficient to form a unit dose capable of providing effective softening or conditioning of fabrics in the wash cycle of said washing machine.
Abstract:
A stable fragrance-containing gel is provided which is capable of being mixed with a fragrance-free base composition comprised of a homogeneous aqueous structured liquid detergent composition to form a pourable fragrance-containing homogeneous aqueous structured detergent composition. The resulting structured detergent composition provides enhanced deposition and longevity of fragrance upon fabrics laundered with such fragrance-containing detergent composition as compared to laundering with an otherwise identical composition containing the same level of fragrance but in the absence of said fragrance-containing gel, said fragrance-containing gel comprising: (a) a polyacrylic acid polymer having an average particle size below about 1 mm; (b) water in an amount sufficient to form a gel with said polymer; (c) a fragrance dispersed within said gel; and (d) a nonionic surfactant in an amount sufficient to emulsify said fragrance and enhance its dispersion within said gel to provide a stable fragrance-containing gel.
Abstract:
A product package and method that allows a consumer to sample a fragrance of a product at the point of sale. The product package (100) includes a vessel (102) defining an orifice (114), a product (104) disposed within the vessel that may be dispensed from the vessel through the orifice, a cap (108) attached to the vessel, and a scented material (144) having a fragrance (146). When the cap, and thus the product package, is in an open position, the fragrance of the scented material is released to an exterior of the product package and may be sampled or smelled by a consumer. When the cap, and thus the product package, is in a closed position, the fragrance of the scented material is substantially prevented from being released to the exterior of the product package.
Abstract:
Disclosed are high-porosity protein particles useful for carrying one or more agents of interest, methods for their manufacture and use, and products comprising them.
Abstract:
An oil containing starch granule is provided comprising: (a) a starch to form an effective matrix for said granule; (b) a perfume oil comprising ingredients having a calculated Clog P of at least 3, said Clog P being the calculated octanol to water partition coefficient, said perfume oil being capable of providing a benefit-additive to a substrate upon contact therewith, said substrate being selected from the group consisting of fabrics, hard surfaces, hair and skin; and (c) an effective amount of a defined organic compound for inhibiting the migration of said oil to the surface of said starch granule.
Abstract:
A water soluble container which is formed from water soluble polymer and disposed therein a granular fabric softener composition, comprising a clay based mineral softener in combination with an organic softener and a perfume, wherein the composition contains less than 3.0 wt. % of water.
Abstract:
Disclosed are products incorporating fragrance-enhancing compositions, methods for increasing the fragrance intensity of fragrance-containing products, and methods for the manufacture of the fragrance-containing products. A fragrance containing gel is exposed to a space outside of the container upon opening of the container for dispensing a material from the container.
Abstract:
Provided are oligomeric amidoamines, an oligomeric amidoamine salt of the oligomeric amdioamine, and/or an oligomeric amidoquat of the oligomeric amidoamine. These materials can be used as fabric softeners in fabric softener compositions or as a hair treatment in hair treatment compositions.
