Abstract:
A two-phase oral care whitening composition including a hydrophobic phase and a hydrophilic phase, and methods for oral care whitening teeth with the same are provided. The hydrophobic phase may include a source of hydrogen peroxide and an acyl donor. The hydrophilic phase may include an enzyme that catalyzes the generation of peracetic acid between the source of hydrogen peroxide and the acyl donor. At least one of the hydrophobic phase and the hydrophilic phase may further include at least one surfactant.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an oral care system comprising (a) a first composition comprising: (i) a peroxide-containing whitening agent; and (ii) at least one silicone polymer, and (b) a second composition comprising a polymer selected from polysaccharides, acrylate polymers, acrylamide polymers, and a mixture of any two or more thereof; wherein the first composition and the second composition are maintained separately from one another. The present invention also provides a method of whitening teeth using the oral care system.
Abstract:
An oral care composition comprising a compound, wherein the compound comprises: (a) a cation; and (b) an anion, wherein the compound has two or more of (i) an atomic polarizability of from 20 to 60, (ii) a Kier flexibility index of from 2 to 20 and (iii) a molar refractivity of from 3 to 10 is provided.
Abstract:
Skin moisturizing formulations which can be administered in the bath or shower, depositing a thin layer of moisturizing agents on application, which is not rinsed off but remains to protect the skin from drying, resulting in smoother, softer skin feel; the formulations comprising polyvalent metal cations and fatty acids, which react on application in the shower or bath to form a thin deposit of insoluble salts, thereby enhancing the retention of moisturizing oils and conditioning agents.
Abstract:
Tooth-whitening films comprising a hydratable polymer and a whitening agent are disclosed in which the films have a hydrophobic coating on one surface and a tooth-adherent coating on the opposing surface. Flavorings can also be included in the hydratable polymer portion of the film or in either the hydrophobic coating or the tooth-adherent coating. Tooth-whitening methods that use the films are also disclosed. The hydratable polymer preferably is a polyethylene oxide.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to oral care compositions comprising an ionic liquid where the ionic liquid contains an imidazolium cation and to a method of removing or reducing plaque using said oral care composition.
Abstract:
Methods of preparing a dentifrice comprising polymer matrix film with menthol therein are disclosed. The methods comprise combining a polymer matrix film that comprises hydrophobic additives and is free of a low solubility flavorant such as menthol with a dentifrice base comprising a low solubility flavorant such as menthol and maintaining the combined polymer matrix film with the dentifrice base comprising low solubility flavorant for an amount of time sufficient for an amount of a low solubility flavorant to transfer from the dentifrice base comprising low solubility flavorant to the polymer matrix film and establish an equilibrium of menthol concentration between the polymer matrix film and the dentifrice base. Products comprising low solubility flavorant-free polymer matrix film in a dentifrice base comprising low solubility flavorant are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A composition comprising at least one indicator, at least one light stabilizer, and at least one antioxidant. The composition is useful as a cleanser that provides a usage timer based on color change to indicate to a user that sufficient time has elapsed for cleansing.
