Abstract:
A unit dose fabric conditioner that contains a combination of a polyol, alkoxylated alcohol, and dispersing polymer to allow for incorporation of encapsulated fragrance slurries into unit dose fabric conditioners to disperse the encapsulated fragrance and fabric conditioner active during laundering.
Abstract:
A fabric softening composition containing poly(vinyl alcohol)-poly(ethylene glycol) graft copolymers. The copolymer can be effectively deposited on the fabric from the fabric softening composition to provide protection from soil and enhanced soil removal on a broad range of fabric including nylon and cotton.
Abstract:
A composition comprising (a) an esterquat that is a quaternized reaction product of an alkanol amine and a fatty acid, wherein from at least 90 wt% to up to 100 wt% of the esterquat is comprised of triesterquat and from 0 wt% to up to 10 wt% of the esterquat is comprised of at least one of monoesterquat and diesterquat, and (b) a water swellable cationic polymer. The water swellable cationic polymer aids in dispersion and/or in deposition of the triesterquat. Also, a method of producing such a composition and a method of softening a fabric, and increasing fragrance delivery, comprising treating the fabric with the composition.
Abstract:
A personal care composition and methods for generating increased foam volume in the personal care composition are disclosed. The personal care composition may include a carrier and at least two hydrocolloids, wherein the at least two hydrocolloids are present in an effective amount to produce increased foam volume. The method may include contacting a carrier of the personal care composition with at least two hydrocolloids. The at least two hydrocolloids may include xanthan gum and carrageenan in a ratio of from about 1.5:1 to about 9:1.
Abstract:
Compositions, such as personal care compositions, and methods for selectively inhibiting the growth of a detrimental bacteria and promoting the growth of a beneficial bacteria are disclosed. The composition may include a base and one or more fatty alcohols. The one or more fatty alcohols may be present in an amount effective to selectively inhibit the growth of at least one detrimental Gram-positive bacteria and promote the growth of at least one beneficial Gram-positive bacteria on skin. The detrimental Gram-positive bacteria may include Corynebacterium, and the beneficial Gram-positive bacteria may include Staphylococcus.

A composition comprising (a) an esterquat that is a quaternized reaction product of an alkanol amine and a fatty acid, wherein from at least 90 wt% to up to 100 wt% of the esterquat is comprised of triesterquat and from 0 wt% to up to 10 wt% of the esterquat is comprised of at least one of monoesterquat and diesterquat, and (b) a cationic surfactant. Also, a method of producing such a composition and a method of softening a fabric, and increasing fragrance delivery, comprising treating the fabric with the composition.
Abstract:
A fragrance-providing composition comprising particles of at least one of porous sodium sulfate and porous sodium carbonate, wherein the particles have a porosity of 0.4-0.6 and are entrained with fragrance oil. Also provided are laundry compositions comprising the entrained porous particles in combination with one or more laundry additives.
Abstract:
A fabric conditioning composition comprising an emulsion of particles in an aqueous vehicle, the particles comprising (a) an esterquat comprising an alkyl dialkanol amine esterquat of a fatty acid, wherein from at least 90 wt% to up to 100 wt% of the esterquat is comprised of diesterquat and from 0 wt% to up to 10 wt% of the esterquat is comprised of monoesterquat, and the fatty acid is substantially saturated and has an iodine value of less than 5, and (b) a water swellable cationic polymer.
Abstract:
A fabric conditioning composition comprising an emulsion of particles in an aqueous vehicle, the particles comprising (a) fatty acid triglyceride, and (b) a water swellable cationic polymer.
