Abstract: Accessory device of a personal care system, devices of a personal care system and related methods are disclosed. The accessory device comprises a processor; a memory connected to the processor; and an interface configured to connect the accessory device to the monitor device of the personal care system, the interface comprising a transceiver module connected to the processor, wherein the accessory device is configured to establish a connection between the monitor device and the accessory device; receive monitor data from the monitor device; determine an operating state of the personal care appliance based on the monitor data; determine whether a primary criterion based on a quality of the connection is satisfied; and in accordance with a determination that the primary criterion is not satisfied, communicate a first indication indicative of the quality of the connection.

Abstract: Sensor assembly, for an ostomy appliance, comprising a support layer and a planar electrode assembly arranged on a surface of the support layer. The electrode assembly comprises at least a first electrode. The first electrode comprises a first main branch extending along a first main path and a first plurality of subbranches connected to the first main branch. Each of the subbranches are connected to the first main branch at respective connection points and extend in a direction at an angle relative to a tangent to the first main path at the respective connection point. Thereby is provided that a rupture of one of the subbranches does not compromise the functionality of the first electrode as such.

Abstract: An electronic system comprising an appliance interface and an electronic device couplable to the appliance interface is disclosed. The appliance interface comprises at least one primary appliance terminal, a reference appliance terminal, and a dielectric region separating the at least one primary appliance terminal and the reference appliance terminal. The electronic device comprises at least one primary device terminal configured to connect to the at least one primary appliance terminal, and a reference device terminal configured to connect to the reference appliance terminal. The electronic device is configured to generate and apply an electrical reference signal to the reference appliance terminal and to detect an electrical primary signal from the at least one primary appliance terminal. Further, the electronic device is configured to compare the primary signal with the reference signal, and, in accordance with at least a component of the primary signal being identical to the reference signal, determine that liquid is present in the appliance interface. Thereby, the electronic system can detect a presence of liquid in the appliance interface: only through the presence of (electrically conducting) liquid in the appliance interface can the primary signal, or a component thereof, be identical to the reference signal. The present disclosure further provides a method for detecting presence of liquid in an appliance interface, an appliance interface, and a medical device comprising the electronic system.
