    Abstract: The collecting bag comprises a bag member (1) formed by two film blanks with joined edges, an inlet opening being provided in one of said film blanks surrounded by connecting elements for connection of the bag to a body orifice. The bag is emptied through a narrowed, elongated discharge portion (8) ending in a discharge opening (9). Sealing plates (35a, 35b) made from a resilient material, e.g. foam, are attached to the discharge portion (8) at or near the discharge opening (9) to close the discharge opening by folding of the discharge portion (8).

    Abstract: An ostomy bag (10) with a filter assembly having a gas filter (18) and a pre-filter (14) for preventing or delaying solid/semisolid matter and liquid from reaching the gas filter (18). The pre-filter (14) is at least substantially flat and comprises a number of constrictions (28), such as ribs extending along and between two inner surface parts (24, 26) of the channel (22). These constrictions/ribs (28) form narrower and wider passages where the gas may more quickly pass a narrow passage and where the wider passages tend to receive and hold the liquid, solid matter and semisolid matter. The constrictions (28) may be provided as a single, monolithic element, such as an extruded element.

    Abstract: An ostomy appliance comprising a front wall and a rear wall of flexible material forming a bag, the rear wall having an opening into the bag by which waste material can enter the bag, said bag having two or more vents through which gas may escape from the bag and having a filter device covering each vent, said filter device being provided with gas inlet and outlet openings in communication with at least one filter body, the arrangement being so that in use gas flows through the filter device from the inlet opening to the outlet opening, such gas flow being confined to said filter body, wherein the ostomy appliance is provided with at least two independent filter devices having separate inlet openings communicating with the inner space of the bag and wherein the inlet openings of the filter devices are located near the border of the bag shows improved resistance against blocking of the inlet opening of filter.
