Abstract:
A body waste collecting device comprising an adhesive composite that fastens a collecting bag to the skin is disclosed. The adhesive composite is highly moisture resistant while still being water absorbing. The adhesivecomposite comprises at least three layers, a backing layer, a moisture absorbing layer and a thin layer of vapour permeable, low-absorbing adhesive layer.
Abstract:
A body waste collecting device comprising a pressure sensitive adhesive construction for attaching a collecting pouch on human skin containing at least two layers of adhesive. The two layers differ in that the skin facing layer of adhesive is softer and more dissipative in nature than the non-skin facing layer of adhesive.
Abstract:
An ostomy system for receiving bodily waste comprises a gas impermeable outer bag and a water impermeable inner bag (100) enclosed within the outer bag, as well as a coupling system (104) for attaching the bag to the body of a patient and for securing the outer bag in relation to the inner bag. The coupling system defines an orifice to enable bodily waste to be received by the inner bag and comprises a barrier for preventing liquids and solid particles from passing from the inner bag to the outer bag, at least part of the barrier being permeable to flatus gasses. The barrier may be in the form of a foam (110). The outer bag comprises an outlet with a flatus filter releasing flatus gasses from the outer bag. An inner bag is provided, which maintains its physical integrity, e.g. its buoyancy upon immersion in water.
Abstract:
It is an object of the invention to provide an adhesive element having an adhesive surface showing adhesive properties for adhering to a substrate wherein at least a part of the surface has been treated, resulting in alteration of the surface properties of the heat treated part of the surface. By heat treatment it is possible to provide an adhesive surface having parts showing different colour, water absorption properties, and/or adhesive properties.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a kit comprising at least one base plate for adhesive attachment to the skin around at least one body opening. The kit further comprises at least one separate peripheral device for attachment to the base plate. The base plate comprises a backing layer, having a proximal side facing the user during use, where a skin friendly adhesive is disposed on said proximal side of the backing layer and wherein the base plate is an intact base plate thereby allowing a hole to be cut at a desired position before use. The separate peripheral device comprises a continuous adhesive ring for permanent adhesive attachment between the continuous adhesive ring of the peripheral device and the distal side of the backing layer of the base plate. This allows the user to provide a custom fit for irregular body openings.
