Abstract: A radome has a base made of a light weight material having a dielectric constant of less than 2.0. A protective layer is secured to and at least partially covers an outer surface of the base. An antenna structure may be located inside of the radome to create a complete antenna. The light weight base material may be a solid having voids such as a solid foam and the protective layer may be a polyurea.
