Abstract:
A system, method and device for the detection of reactions between biomolecules or cells and a second compound are disclosed. The invention utilizes a fluorescent material having a fluorescence that changes with temperature. The fluorescent material is associated with a substrate, for example, a microarray chip or microplate, preferably suitable for use in high-throughput screening of biomolecules or cells. Substrates containing the fluorescent material also can be used to compensate for temperature variations in refractive index in optical sensors.
Abstract:
This invention concerns an electrolytic material in the form of a solid gel for the modulation of light comprising a homogeneous mixture of: (A) at least one organic solvent; (B) at least one salt of an electrodepositable metal; (C) at least one organic acid; and (D) at least one salt of a non-electrodepositable metal that facilitates the solubilization of metal salt (B); characterized in that it comprises in addition: (E) at least one agent gelling said mixture to a non-flowing, transparent, solid gel state. l
Abstract:
The fabrication of activated carbon based supercapacitors. In particular, a monolithic activated carbon plate or honeycomb electrodes (4, 6 and 8) made by extrusion, molding, or casting is described. The carbon monolithic plates or honeycombs are fabricated from synthetic carbon precursor and active ingredient leading to superior electrical properties.
