Abstract: A disclosed multimode optical fiber comprises a core and a cladding surrounding the core. The core has an outer radius r1 in between 20 μm and 30 μm. The cladding includes a first outer cladding region having an outer radius r4a and a second outer cladding region having an outer radius r4b less than or equal to 45 μm. The second outer cladding region comprises silica-based glass doped with titania. The optical fiber further includes a primary coating with an outer radius r5 less than or equal to 80 μm, and a thickness (r5−r4) less than or equal to 30 μm. The optical fiber further includes a secondary coating with an outer radius r6 less than or equal to 100 μm. The secondary coating has a thickness (r6−r5) less than or equal to 30 μm, and a normalized puncture load greater than 3.6×10−3 g/micron2.

Abstract: Glass stack configurations including a carrier plate, setter plates, and glass sheets for thermal treatment of the glass sheets to form glass ceramic articles are provided. The glass stacking configurations and components described herein are selected to improve thermal uniformity throughout a glass stack during ceramming processes while maintaining or even reducing the stresses in the resultant glass ceramic article. Accordingly, the glass ceramic articles made according to the various embodiments described herein exhibit improved optical qualities and less warp than glass ceramic articles made according to conventional processes. Various embodiments of carrier plates, setter plates, parting agent compositions, and methods of stacking glass sheets are described.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides coating compositions that can be cured at fast rates as well as coatings and cured products formed from the coating compositions. The coating compositions include an acylgermane photoinitiator that leads to fast cure speeds. The coating compositions include primary coating compositions and secondary coating compositions. The coating compositions can be cured to form primary and secondary coatings of optical fibers. The primary coatings feature low Young's modulus and high tear strength. The primary coatings provide good microbending performance and are resistant to defect formation during the fiber draw process and subsequent handling operations. The secondary coatings feature high Young's modulus and good puncture resistance.
