An electronic reader device configured to receive at least one set of source data for processing in a manner so as to display at least one electronic reading material. The electronic reader device includes a processing portion and a display portion coupled to the processing portion. The processing portion can be configured to process at least one set of source data in a manner so as to produce graphic data. Graphic data can be communicated to the display portion which can be configured to display graphic data as display data in a stereoscopic display mode. The display data can correspond to a graphic representation. In the stereoscopic display mode, the graphic representation is associable with a three dimensional imaging based graphic representation such that the display data correspond to a graphic representation where at least one portion of the at least one electronic reading material is visually perceivable to be projecting from the display portion.
Abstract:
A method for establishing a Bluetooth based communication link between an initiating device and a receiving device is provided. The initiating device can include a microphone input to receive audio signals which can be processed to produce audio data. The Bluetooth based communication link can be associated with communication parameters which include a plurality of slots. Specifically, one set of slots is reserved and another set of slots is unreserved. Additionally, the Bluetooth based communication link can be established in a manner such that audio data is communicated from the initiating device to the receiving device based on the set of reserved slots instead of the set of unreserved slots.
Abstract:
There is provided a data processing apparatus for segmental processing of input data. The apparatus includes a plurality of data processors connected in a series configuration, the plurality of data processors being able to transmit discrete data packets over a video bus to one another, with the plurality of data processors being divided into a plurality of data processing sets; and a central controller coupled to the plurality of data processors for controlling allocation of the input data to the plurality of data processing sets, the central controller being also for controlling transmission of output data from the apparatus. The apparatus incorporates several varying methods for data transmittal amongst data processors and has several applications which will be described.
Abstract:
There is provided a method for generating a user interface for enabling access to data on a server. The method comprises updating metadata in a metadata server, the metadata server being functionally connected to the server; processing the metadata on the metadata server; sending a request to the server to perform a task; and generating the user interface on a client device based on the processed metadata for enabling access to data on the server. The user interface may preferably be used to send the request to the server. The task being performed by the server may include, for example, browsing a collection of files, organizing files, selecting files, editing files, uploading files, downloading files and so forth.
Abstract:
There is provided a method for creating a stereoscopic image sequence. The method can include capturing a sequence of static images and forming a plurality of image pairs. Each image pair can include a first image and a second image selected from the sequence of static images. Selection of the first image can be done in a manner so that the image pairs are formed a spatially coherent manner. The stereoscopic image sequence can be created based on the image pairs. Creating the stereoscopic image sequence can, for example, relate to producing a stereoscopic video.

A device such as a speaker apparatus is provided. The speaker apparatus can include a body portion and a display portion. The body portion can carry at least one speaker driver. The display portion can be coupled to the body portion. Additionally, the display portion can be moved relative to the body portion between a display position and a kept position. When in either the display position or the kept position, emission of sound from the speaker driver can remain substantially unimpeded by the display portion. Additionally, the speaker driver is capable of sound emission when the display portion is in either the display position or the kept position.

A data file having more than one modes of operation. The data file comprises an image component for storing an image as a representation of the data file and one or more data components appended to the image component. The image component comprises metadata associated with the one or more data components. In a first mode of operation, the image component of the data file is readable for viewing the image by an image viewer while the image component is part of the data file. The one or more appended data components are unreadable by the image viewer in the first mode of operation. In a second mode of operation, the image component and the one or more appended data components are readable by a file reader.

Systems and techniques are provided to transmit data over a digital interface between a sender and a receiver. The digital interface is configured for transmitting a primary type of data as opposed to a secondary type of data. Nevertheless, systems and techniques are provided where the secondary type of data can be transmitted in the digital interface. As such, the primary and/or secondary types of data are transmitted from the sender to the receiver via the digital interface. The primary and secondary types of data may be different and/or unrelated and could be any type of data including, but not limited to, audio data, general data, and bulk data. Yet, the received primary and secondary types of data are still useful after the transmission.
Abstract:
A method for signal processing of voice of a speaker is provided. The voice of the speaker can correspond to audio signals including one or more voice parameters associable with emotion of the speaker. The method can include receiving the audio signals and processing the audio signals by adjusting one or more of the one or more voice parameters to produce an adjusted speech output signal. The method can further include providing an output of the adjusted speech output signal so that the adjusted speech output signal is audibly perceivable and providing an audible feedback of the adjusted speech output signal to the speaker. The speaker is capable of receiving the audible feedback of the adjusted speech output signal and further adjusting the one or more voice parameters in a manner so as to accentuate speaker emotion.
