PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an pointer-type electronic timepiece including a radio communication means, and a communication system constituted of the electronic timepiece and an electronic device such as a cellular phone, wherein stable data communication is performed without hindering operation of the electronic timepiece. SOLUTION: A communication timing control means is provided in the electronic timepiece, and a communication interval by the radio communication means and an operation period are set to have the same period, and control is performed so that communication timings (e2-t2) by the radio communication means are not overlapped on driving timings (e1-l1, s1-u1) of a pointer. When performing a heavy-load processing such as quick forwarding operation (m1-q1), the communication interval is changed by transmitting communication interval changing information to the cellular phone. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wrist-mounted type terminal capable of correcting the time with a high degree of accuracy in a short period of time, and a time correcting method thereof. SOLUTION: The wrist mounting type terminal includes a time-counting means for counting the present time data; an external time acquisition means for acquiring time data from an external device; a first time correction means for correcting the present time data of the time-counting means, based on the time data acquired by the external time acquisition means; a standard wave reception means for receiving standard waves; a control means activating the standard wave reception means, after correcting the present time data of the time-counting means by the first time-correction means; and a second time correction means acquiring a value, in units of digits of seconds of the present time, based on a predetermined one of the wave signals received by the standard electric wave reception means, correcting the present time data of the time-counting means, based on this value in the units digit of seconds, and allowing time synchronization of the present time data with a standard wave signal. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic timepiece which has a wireless communication function, which automatically enables a data setting necessary for a world time function by using predetermined communication specifications of the wireless communication function, and which prevents such data setting from being left unset even when the communication specifications are not available.SOLUTION: An electronic timepiece includes: storage means which stores therein local time attribute information indicating a relation between the universal time and a local time; communication specifications determination means (S3 to S5) which determines, when setting for communicating with a communication party, whether or not the communication party has communication specifications that allow transmission of notification data of the local time attribute information; first setting control means (S6, S7) which acquires, if the communication party has the communication specifications, the notification data from the communication party, so as to set the local time attribute information; and second setting control means (S8, S9) which performs, if the communication party does not have the communication specifications, control processing for causing another means to set the local time attribute information.

SOLUTION: A timepiece includes a reception part 22 for receiving one item of navigation data from items of navigation data of GPS signals received from a plurality of GPS satellites; a time measuring part 17 for measuring current time and storing it as internal time data; a GPS satellite determination means for determining a plurality of GPS satellites from which navigation data can be received; an elevation angle computation means for computing angles of elevation of the determined plurality of GPS satellites; a GPS satellite selection means for selecting a GPS satellite having a high angle of elevation among the plurality of GPS satellites from which navigation data can be received; an acquisition means for receiving navigation data from the GPS satellite selected by the reception part 22 and acquiring GPS time data included in navigation data; and a CPU 11 as an internal time correction means for correcting internal time data on the basis of the acquired GPS time data. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a time correcting system capable of transmitting and receiving time data from one device to another device between the devices for transmitting/receiving communication data for every prescribed time interval and accurately correcting the time of the other device, as well as a time transmitting device and a time receiving device for the system, and a time correcting method.SOLUTION: A time transmitting device creates transmission data including time correction data that is formed by adding, to current time data, a processing time Ta required when reading the current time data and creating the transmission data, and a waiting time Tb until a next data transmission, and transmits the transmission data at transmission timing for every prescribed time interval. A time receiving device calculates a correction time formed by adding a processing time Tc required from receiving the transmission data until correcting timekeeping data, to a time indicated by the time correcting data, and corrects the timekeeping data to the correction time.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic timepiece, a time correction method, and a program which can efficiently acquire accurate time data by wireless communication with an external apparatus.SOLUTION: An electronic timepiece comprises: timekeeping means; communication means for performing data transmission and reception with an external apparatus by radio at set communication time intervals; and time correction means for correcting the current time on the basis of current time data acquired from the external apparatus. The time correction means comprises: interval adjustment means for adjusting the communication time intervals according to desired accuracy while correcting the current time; update interval identification means for identifying update intervals of the current time data in the external apparatus on the basis of an arrangement pattern of the current times received by the communication means at the adjusted communication time intervals; and current time acquisition means for acquiring the current time by identifying reception timing of the current time data of which time difference between update and reception of the current time data in the external apparatus is smaller than a predetermined reference value, on the basis of the update intervals, the arrangement pattern of the current times, and communication time intervals.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately correct the time of an internal time by correcting day, month, and year and second, minute, and hour of a time correction control apparatus and reduce electric power consumption. SOLUTION: The time difference between second, minute, and hour indicated by second, minute, and hour information included in received GPS signals and second, minute, and hour of measured time information is computed. When the computed time difference is greater than a predetermined time difference, both received day, month, and year information and received second, minute, and hour information are used to correct day, month, and year and second, minute, and hour to be measured. When the computed time difference is smaller than the predetermined time difference, received second, minute, and hour information is used to correct second, minute, and hour to be measured.
