PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device having excellent rotational balance of a wheel, and to provide a projector including the same. SOLUTION: The light source device includes: an excitation light source that emits prescribed wavelength-band light; a light-emitting wheel 71 arranged on an optical axis of the excitation light source; and a wheel motor 73 for rotationally driving the light-emitting wheel 71. The light-emitting wheel 71 has: each phosphor region that receives light emitted from the excitation light source so as to emit wavelength-band light different from a prescribed wavelength-band emitted by the excitation light source; and diffusion regions arranged at two or more parts so as to diffuse and transmit the light emitted from the excitation light source. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting element capable of preventing pulling out from a device, a light source device incorporating the light-emitting element, and a projector incorporating the light source device.SOLUTION: A light-emitting element has a body part 71c which has a light-emitting port 71g for emitting light and a claw part 71d with elasticity which projects to be widened to the outside from the tip part side toward the opposite side to the light-emitting port 71g near the tip of the body part 71c. A light source device includes the light-emitting element and a holder with a through-hole for housing the body part 71c of the light-emitting element, and the tip of the claw part 71d is in contact with a through-hole inner wall 79f of the holder.

SOLUTION: A projector includes: a light source part 17 including a semiconductor laser part 21 generating blue laser light and a color wheel 24 periodically repeating a period for emitting the blue laser light, without changing its wavelength and a period for converting the wavelength of the blue laser light and emitting red light or green light; a projected light processing part 36 and a CPU 37 intermittently driving the semiconductor laser part 21, during the period for emitting the blue light by the color wheel 24; input systems 11 and 12 to which an image signal is inputted; and projection systems 13 to 16, 18 and 19 forming a color light image corresponding to the input image signal by using light emitted from the light source part 17 and projecting the color light image. SOLUTION: In the method for reducing ghost on the outside face of a projector 100 which irradiates a display element 230 with light from the oblique direction of the display element 230 by means of the mirror 228 of a light-source optical system 220, a light guide device 224 is rotated by an arbitrary angle so that one side of a luminous flux of a rectangular cross-section emitted from the light guide device 224 is almost parallel to one frame of the display element 230 located in a place where this side is irradiated. Also, the position where the luminous flux emitted from the light guide device 224 irradiates the display element 230 is adjusted by the mirror 228 so that the one side of the luminous flux emitted from the light guide device 224 is made close to the image forming part of the display element 230 which corresponds to the one side. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device having a configuration which prevents a light source element from being taken out and unsolicitedly used, and a projection device using the same and a manufacturing method therefor.SOLUTION: An opening 232 for disposing an FPC 290 to which a LD serving as a light source element is connected is formed in a first holder 230 in which a LD serving as a light source element. A heat sink 124 is attached to the first holder 230. The heat sink 124 is provided with a claw part 124a which catches the FPC 290 when the holder 230 is attempted to be released from the holder 230, resulting in a force in a tensile direction being applied to lead wire of the LD. The force causes the lead wire to be released from the LD to make the LD unusable.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device and a projector which effectively cool multiple heat sources housed in a small size electronic apparatus.SOLUTION: In a cooling device, multiple base plates 81a, 130e are adjacently placed so as to be located close to each other, and the multiple base plates 81a, 130e have flat plate like heat radiation fins 81b, 130d, respectively, erected on rear surfaces thereof. Further, the heat radiation fins 81b, 130d erected on the respective base plates 81a, 130e have extending parts 81d, 130c extending on the rear surfaces of the base plates 81a, 130e that are located next to each other. One or multiple heat sources are thermally connected with front surfaces of the respective base plates 81a, 130e.
