Abstract:
An anal irrigation system including a control unit (2) is provided. The control unit (2) is connected to an external tube (4) by an extension cord (9), so that pivoting of the control unit (2) with respect to the external tube (4) is possible.
Abstract:
A base plate (1) for an ostomy appliance. The base plate forms a proximal surface (2) configured to be attached to the body. The base plate comprises an electrode structure (4) extending in a recess structure (5) in the proximal surface. To allow a more exact signal, the recess structure defines volume which exceeds the volume of the electrode structure to thereby define a free space in the recess structure.
Abstract:
An adaptable ostomy base plate comprising a flexible top film, having a first section and a second section, and having at least a first elastic skin-friendly adhesive on a proximal surface of said flexible top film, a stoma-receiving through-going hole defining an inner boundary in said first section, said first section being adjacent to and extending radially from said through-going hole and said second section surrounding said first section defining an outer boundary of the base plate, and one or more release liners, the base plate has a substantially convex shape for initial engagement with a peristomal skin surface and can be inverted to a substantially concave shape to fittingly engage to a topography of the peristomal skin surface and the second section of the base plate is in the form of a plurality of petals extending away from the central area; and a plurality of bridges, each bridge formed between adjacent petals of the plurality of petals.
Abstract:
An anal irrigation system with a box for a reservoir is provided. The reservoir may be for one-time use and disposed of after use. The box is provided with means for pressing so that the box can be used to displace liquid from a reservoir in an easy and convenient way. Also provided is a box with means for pressing so as to displace liquid from a reservoir. Also provided is an anal irrigation system without reservoir and where the box is provided with an inflatable lung, which is inflated for displacing the liquid from the box.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a sensor patch and a method for manufacturing a sensor patch for attachment to an adhesive surface of a base plate for an ostomy appliance. The sensor patch having a first side and a second side. The sensor patch being adapted to form a stomal opening with a centre point, the stomal opening being configured to allow passage of output through the stomal opening and into an ostomy pouch attached to a base plate. The sensor patch comprises: a sensor assembly comprising a plurality of electrodes, a first adhesive sensor layer forming the first side of the sensor patch, and a second adhesive sensor layer forming the second side of the sensor patch.
Abstract:
A system for anal and/or stomal irrigation of a user's bowel comprises a reservoir (102) for an irrigating liquid, a catheter (100) for insertion into the rectum and/or stoma of a user and for expelling of the irrigating liquid from a catheter tip, and an expandable retention element (104), such as a balloon, for fixation of the catheter tip within the user's rectum or stoma. Tubing and valve systems provide conduits for the irrigating liquid between the reservoir and the catheter and between the reservoir and the expandable retention element, a pump (101) being provided within the tubing system. The pump and the valve system is controllable to selectively pump the irrigating liquid into the expandable retention element, transfer the irrigating liquid through the catheter for expelling of the irrigating fluid from the catheter tip and into the user's rectum or stoma, and to withdraw the irrigating liquid from the retention element for purging thereof.
Abstract:
An anal probe is provided. The probe has a retention part and a stem, where the retention part flares outward from its attachment to the stem and towards the insertion end. The retention part may be made of a soft resilient material.
Abstract:
A urinary catheter assembly having a sleeve is provided. The urinary catheter assembly comprises a urinary catheter (2) having a hydrophilic surface; the urinary catheter being provided with an insertion tip (5) in a proximal insertion end of the urinary catheter and an outlet (4) at a distal end of the urinary catheter, a handle (8) being slidingly disposed on the urinary catheter, a collapsible, flexible sleeve (7) attached to the handle and being configured to cover the urinary catheter from the outlet to the tip portion in an extended configuration of the urinary catheter assembly, the sleeve being attached to a connector (9) at the outlet, the connector and handle configured to be detachably attached to each other and define a cavity provided by the sleeve, handle and connector encapsulating an entirety of the urinary catheter in a storage condition.
Abstract:
A system for anal or stomal irrigation comprises a reservoir (102) for an irrigating liquid; a catheter (100) comprising a catheter tip for insertion into the rectum or stoma, a thermo sensor (128) connected to the reservoir for obtaining a measure of a temperature within the reservoir, a tubing system and/or the catheter. A control system (103) operatively connected with the thermo sensor is configured to determine a temperature within the reservoir. A method for predicting a temperature in a reservoir for irrigation liquid is also provided.
Abstract:
A system for anal and/or stomal irrigation comprises a reservoir (102) for an irrigating liquid, a catheter (100) comprising a catheter tip for insertion into the rectum or stoma of a user and for expelling of the irrigating liquid from the catheter tip, and a tubing system (121) providing a conduit for the irrigating liquid between the reservoir and the catheter tip. A pump (101) is provided to pump the irrigating liquid from the reservoir to the catheter tip, and a control system (103) controls a flow condition, such as the amount of liquid expelled at the catheter tip. A sensor (153) determines a measure of pressure in at least one first predetermined position in the tubing system and/or the catheter during operation of the pump, on the basis of which the flow condition is estimated. The control system is configured to control the pumping operation of the pump in response to the measure of pressure.
