Abstract:
A pump is provided for a body implantable prosthesis that includes a reservoir maintaining a fluid volume that is transferrable into a cylinder. The pump includes a pump bulb (40), an inlet valve (54), an exhaust valve (56), and an anti-auto inflation (AAI) valve (60). The pump bulb is connected to a pump body that is in fluid communication with the reservoir and the cylinder. The inlet valve is operable to allow a portion of the fluid volume to be drawn from the reservoir and delivered into the pump bulb. The exhaust valve is operable to allow the portion of the fluid volume delivered into the pump bulb to be pumped into the cylinder. The AAI valve is disposed in the pump body and has a seal that is biased to prevent fluid flow from bypassing the pump bulb and flowing from the reservoir to the cylinder.
Abstract:
A penile implant includes an inflatable bladder providing a fluid chamber, a distal tip extending from a distal end of the inflatable bladder, and a proximal tip assembly extending from a proximal end of the inflatable bladder. The proximal tip assembly includes a tip core providing a first proximal tip diameter and a tip sleeve disposed over the tip core to provide a second proximal tip diameter that is larger than the first proximal tip diameter. The tip sleeve is removable from the tip core to provide the penile implant with a proximal tip that is convertible between the first and second proximal tip diameters.
Abstract:
A cap configured to be attached to a cylinder of an implantable penile prosthesis includes a body section and a tip section. The body section defines a recess that is attachable to an end of the cylinder of the implantable penile prosthesis and the tip section terminates in a tip having a curved exterior surface. The tip section defines at least one slot formed therein that extends away from the body section and has a slot axis that intersects with a longitudinal axis of the cap.
Abstract:
An instrument and a method configured to prepare a penis for implantation of a penile prosthetic. The instrument includes a shaft (22) extending between a distal end and a proximal end, a plunger (24) coupled to and movable relative to the shaft, and a dilation head (26) coupled to a distal end of the plunger and disposed around an exterior of the shaft. The dilation head is movable longitudinally along the shaft.
